I would never choose this tea, but I always try every herbal that pops up in a TTB, so here we are. The only ingredient is mamaki, which is apparently a type of nettle. The flavor is light and plant-like, but at a level that’s pleasant. I wouldn’t seek this out, but I actually wouldn’t mind drinking it again.

I tried a few mamaki tisanes in Hawai’i and I liked it! It was also nice iced mixed with hibiscus.

I liked it a lot more than I expected for sure! I’d never heard of it before!

Not my favorite kind of herbal tea. Something about the combination of chamomile, mint, hibiscus and lemongrass drives me away from similar mixes. Luckily only a teaspoon left.

It is very fresh and cooling with a hint of sweetness. It made a thoughtful gift from my work father and his wife upon their return from Hawaii a few months ago.

Flavors: Chamomile, Citrusy, Floral, Hibiscus, Honey, Lemongrass, Orange, Peppermint, Rosehips, Tart

Old sample from Tea Sipper. Thank you!

This was a surprise favorite for me. I don’t usually care for lemongrass, I don’t often like mint in blends, and I’m picky about rose hips. But this is actually really good! It’s bright, fruity, and pleasantly tart, with an aftertaste of herbs and mint. I think I like it in part because the main flavor and the aftertaste are so distinct -you taste the fruit first and as that flavor is fading, then you get the mint.

Flavors: Citrus, Fruity, Herbs, Mint, Pleasantly Sour

One sip… hibiscus. I can’t even concentrate on anything else. The aftertaste is nice with raspberry and lychee, but the sip is all hibiscus which equals all gross.

I actually had to do a “double steep” on this tea because I put WAY too much water in my cup! :-D Initally the smell is very much like a mounds bar, then you start getting more of the black tea. I do wish the flavors of chocolate and coconut came more strongly. it’s a black tea (mild) with hints of cocoa and coconut. I will try this again and actually pay more attention to my water level to see if i can get a better brew. It’s a nice tea though, and I will finish out my bag.
