Recent Tasting Notes

Someone recently brought me a bunch of teas they picked up on Hawaii to try and this was the first I got a chance to steep up. The dry leaf is potent and zesty, with bold notes of ginger that tickle the nose. Steeped up, it’s quite spice forward but less of a punch than the dry leaf would maybe lead you to believe. Still has some kick though, with an earthiness from the turmeric and a bit of a citrus note too. Less bright citrus, more the zest and density of peel. It’s fine! Definitely would be better with a little honey, though.
