Chai from the tea box! Chai doesn’t usually excite me, but the smell often makes me give it a try anyway. I took the advice of…I don’t remember who from here, and I crushed up the cardamom pods before putting them in my infuser. So this tastes pretty strongly of cardamom, which is nice! There’s quite a bit of bitterness, but maybe that’s down to the way I steeped it. Anyway, I would say that this tea is more interesting than the average chai. I don’t find it to be at all spicy. This is best hot since it gets more bitter as it cools.

Discovery tea box – Tea #6
This is one of those tea companies I’ve never heard of, and I feel like that is exactly what I love to find in teaboxes. Shops I’ve never heard of! However, it looks like the website for this shop is temporarily under construction. I love chai, so happy to see this one in the teabox. This chai has quite a lot of spiciness and also a strong black tea. Which are both requirements for me in a great chai. Spicy with a strong base! I’d say this one has more pepper notes than I might notice in a typical chai.

I added cream to this one as I do most black teas. It’s similar to my favorite rose tea – Valley of the Heart’s Delight by Satori Teas – but not quite as good.

Flavors: Rose

I’m actually kind of surprised – this really does taste like there is a splash of rum in here! We bought this tea and a couple of others in Nassau during our cruise last month.

When I opened the bag, my first thought was apples. It kind of surprised me since this is a strawberry tea, but I looked at the ingredient list and it does list apple as the first ingredient. I did smell the strawberry while it was steeping, but now that it’s done I mostly notice apple and cinnamon. Actually, there is some juicy strawberry there, but it really tastes more like fruit punch or Kool-Aid. Unfortunately, this one smells much better to me than it tastes.

Flavors: Apple, Cinnamon, Fruit Punch, Strawberry

This is incredibly comforting simply in the fact that it is a warm mug to hold between my hands. This is my first day back to work after a crazy and stressful week. It’s so nice to be back into a normal routine, somewhat.

This tea is one we bought on our recent trip to the Bahamas. My husband loves herbal teas and picked this one up right away. Oddly enough, the smell reminds me of strawberry jello but there is also a spice to it that is nice.
