This tea is best iced. I liked it fine hot, but I really liked it when I cold-brewed a few teabags overnight – it made a delicious iced tea.

Sweet, crisp white tea notes. Bright raspberry flavor. The finish reminds me very much of the taste when eating a fresh, ripe raspberry – sweet with tart berry notes.

I wasn’t all that crazy about this tea at first, but as I continued to sip it, I found myself liking it more and more. The first few sips had a very delicate flavor to them, but by mid-cup the flavors really popped.

The green tea is the star of this show. It’s a refreshing green tea with soft vegetal notes and a velvety butter taste. Sweet and quite nice. The passion fruit is a subtle flavor that seemed to intensify as I continued to sip.

This is really nice iced.

This has a really pleasant fruit flavor. I like that even though this is a bagged tea, the flavors are vibrant. It’s nutty and sweet from the rooibos, but without tasting funky the way rooibos can taste sometimes.

Nice, tropical, fruity, sweet … tasty.

I’m not usually a fan of rooibos and I’ve never really made any big secret of that. However, I have enjoyed these dark chocolate rooibos blends from Tea of Life. The chocolate notes are very well-defined. And … I’m a bit of a chocoholic.

So this blend was right up my alley, lots of dark chocolate flavor together with creamy vanilla. I tasted some honey-like sweetness from the rooibos and maybe a hint of nutty tones from the rooibos, but that’s really all I taste from the rooibos and that’s OK with me.

drank Darjeeling by Tea of Life

I have been trying to deal with insurance all day with no headway made. I long for the days of oblivious company provided insurance. I venture to guess most people in the states have no idea what their insurance costs – maybe just the portion they have to pay themselves and they think that is too high. Without getting on a rant, allow me to say, AAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaakkkkkkkkkkk!

So, reached into one of my many boxes and pulled this out. I don’t remember it. Turns out I even wrote a short review. I am having a day and this certainly did not help. This is really bad. It isn’t even worth any more words.

My dad lived in the US briefly and had a medical emergency while I was there visiting him. The insurance system was ridiculously stressful to navigate in an emergency. Made me so glad to live in Canada, where I have pretty much never had to think about money in connection to basic health care.

I was super impressed with how beautiful and modern the hospitals were, and how quickly we got in to see a specialist (days, instead of weeks or months, as it can be here.) But I guess that’s what happens in a for profit system where some people have access and others don’t.

This bagged offering came to me from CelebriTEA. I took her advice and only steeped this for 3 minutes at 180 F. Without additions this was pretty lifeless. I added Splenda and now I taste woodsy with cinnamon notes and light floral muscatel. Of course there is a lot of side tongue tingle. I don’t like milk in my black tea but I think that is what this is demanding. It isn’t the most horrible tea I’ve had by far but my thought is you can do better. I have no problem with bagged and I am a big fan of cheap bargain finds. My favorite cheap bagged Darjeeling is Mother Parker’s. This Tea of Life offering behaves more like a cheap aggressive Assam. This is the first time I have clicked the not recommended button. CelebriTEA called this a regret purchase. I’ve had more than a few of those myself.

I am not sure what chocolate flavorings that Tea of Life is using for their chocolate series but, I think that other companies should find out and start using the same chocolate … Tea of Life has a really good chocolate flavoring.

A really awesome combination of two of my favorite tea flavors: banana and chocolate. YUM!

A simple tisane, but it is still tasty. It’s nicely balanced. The Tulsi is has a light basil flavor with notes of mint and pepper, and this complements the zesty ginger notes, and the lemongrass gives it a light, sweet, citrus-y lift.

Tasty, one I wouldn’t mind drinking now and then.

I love the teas that I’ve tried from Tea of Life. Yeah, sure, they’re bagged/sacheted teas and for the most part, I usually look down my nose at bagged varieties, but, Tea of Life has proven themselves to be good teas … even for bagged teas.

A really good balance of green tea and blueberry flavor with this tea. The green tea tastes light and buttery, and the blueberry is sweet with the tart berry note at the finish.

drank Green Tea Soursop by Tea of Life
871 tasting notes

My dad gave me a pyramid tea bag of this a while ago.

I am already irritated by this tea and by this company. For starters there are several websites that are called Tea of Life, or something similar. When I finally got to what I assume to be the correct site, there is really no correct site and it all leads to facebook, amazon, ebay, etc. There is also no info on soursop tea from this company. So very irritating.

I figured out what soursop was from other teas with the same same. It is a custard apple. So this tea is supposed to be an excellent tasting green tea with a fruity flavour and a bitter aftertaste.

The dry tea smells funny, reminds me of soup broth.

The brewed tea is…different. The green tea is brisk. Not smooth or buttery. There is quite an artificial chemical taste which I am assuming is supposed to be the soursop. There is a slight sweet/sour taste. A bit like a granny smith apple but not quite strong and certainly not natural tasting. There is a bitter aftertaste but it is not bitter as in overbrewed green tea. More bitter, like how a fruit can be bitter.

I think it is safe to say I do not like this tea. But I also need to admit that this review was tainted by bad experience before I even tried the tea.

I had soursop fruit in Jamaica for the first time! It was actually pretty tasty.

drank White Tea Chai by Tea of Life

Backlog:

I was surprised by the aroma of the dry leaf, I could barely smell the spice. But once brewed, the spices came forward … in both the fragrance and the flavor. The brewed tea smells yummy.

The white tea is a delicate tasting tea – no big surprise there! – and the spices are in keeping with that … they aren’t overpowering the flavor of the tea. It’s a really pleasant chai – much better than I expected it to be after smelling the dry leaf.

If you like a peppery chai … you should try this.

drank Jasmine Orange by Tea of Life

Sipdown! Mom had this the other day and liked it so I decided to try it today. I seem to be trying to get rid of all my spare teabags, which is easy because most of them are one or two servings.

This smells intensely of jasmine with just a little bit of orange. I wasn’t sure about the combination but it’s a very nice smell. The taste is more orange than jasmine, but there is a little bit of a floral aftertaste. I would prefer more jasmine, actually, because orange teas are hit or miss for me. This one’s a miss, but only because there’s so much orange I don’t taste much else.

Having tried the Lipton jasmine orange tea (and this one from Lipton still being the only tea from Lipton I like), I wondered how this might compare to it.

I was satisfied with this tea. It has a light grassy taste, with notes of jasmine and a bright citrus splash of orange. It’s light, invigorating and sweet. Enjoyable.

I have to say that even though these teas from Tea of Life are bagged teas, I’ve been pretty impressed with what I’ve tried from them thus far. This blend has struck a really good balance between green tea flavors with the right touches of honey and lemon.

Sweet, slightly grassy, and a bright citrus-y note.

I love light green teas with fruits and with this tea just the scent of the tea leaves is already splendid, let alone once the tea is ready. One of my favourites.
I steeped it for only 3-4 min instead the recommended 4-5 mins as I prefer it lighter

A really tasty rooibos blend. I like the way the orange and spices meld with the earthy/nutty flavors of the rooibos. A nice contrast between sweet and spicy, although this isn’t overly spicy. It’s more like a gently warm spice.

I took a risk, since the canister (a nifty oval shape with a toggle-style closure) had no date on it. Neither did the two foil packs of tea bags contained within. The tea brewed up with lovely dark color — I needed a lot of milk to get the tea to my preferred milkyness, which is somewhere between “builders tea” and regular “milky tea.” However the taste was much lighter than the color; I suspect this batch was not so fresh, especially since it seems to only be available now through somebody on Amazon calling himself “Square Deal Guy.” (Yikes.) It did have some interesting Darjeeling notes among the Assam heartiness, though; and the caffeine was just right for the afternoon, adding a bit of brightness and focus to my outlook with no jitters at all. Now that Harney & Sons has a Scottish Afternoon blend, I’m going to try that next. I got my canister at Park Slope Coffee Tea N Spices.

I’ll be reviewing a lot of teas from Tea of Life in the coming months, and so far, of the ones that I’ve tried, this one is my favorite. The black berry notes are very well defined! My oldest daughter had a cup of this tea too, and she really enjoyed it.

The blackberry tastes authentic, sweet, and juicy! Just like the real thing. The white tea is delicate and the two – fruit and tea – work very well together. One of the best sacheted teas I’ve had.

I love the pop-art tins of this particular collection from Tea of Life. The picture here doesn’t show the pop-art tins, you can see this tin in my full-length review: http://sororiteasisters.com/2014/01/17/english-breakfast-tea-tea-life/ (yeah, the photo isn’t the greatest.)

A really nice breakfast blend. Rich, hearty … robust. It’s edgy without addition, so if you like a tea that’s got a bit of an edge, serve it straight up. It does take the addition of milk and honey (or turbinado sugar!) well if you like a morning latte.

Full-flavored, notes of malt, sweet, earthy, and with hints of leather.

I’m not always crazy about bagged tea but this one’s pretty darned good.

Not sure if I like the taste of Jasmine…thought I would, I certainly like the smell and I usually like flowery teas in general. It isn’t a bad cup though. Maybe I’m just not in the mood to appreciate it? My Dad is currently working on the kitchen and bathroom sink pipes as we have had some minor backups, so between the god awful smell and having had to move my kettle and tea samples box that could be whats affecting my appreciation sense.

drank Rooibos Ginger Peach by Tea of Life

Thank you to CelebriTEA for sharing some of this with me. :)

I needed to start drinking rooibos earlier than I did tonight, and this was an excellent choice to start with. I get mostly peach out of this bagged rooibos blend, and while I do miss the ginger (because I LOVE ginger), I’m quite content with a peach rooibos as well.

Please be patient with me…new to writing tasting notes.
This is a regret of purchase.
All that comes to mind is harsh, bitter, astringent.
The label says to steep 176-194degrees for 4-5 minutes,
But it was getting rather darked so I stopped at 3 minutes.
Honey did not help, but I think if I had let it steep longer
It would have been undrinkable.
Another day I will try this as an Iced Tea and add another note.

I snagged this at my TJMaxx, which surprisingly has a wide tea selection – some teas better than others, but pretty cheap so they’re worth a gamble.

Chamomile tea is my favorite, and this has a really nice flavor – not too strong, and not too subtle. And sweet enough for me, that I didn’t add any agave. Big fan!
