It’s like getting punched in the mouth by a Russian, but in a good way. It reminds me a bit of Lady Grey, only a lot stronger. I think I can taste grapefruit in this tea but not quite sure… I like this tea, when I want a really powerful Earl Grey this is a good one to choose. When I want it a little more mellow I mix it with EG cream or Dorian Grey. Sometimes I add milk but usually just sugar.

Amazing flavour! Like drinking fresh strawberries, you don’t really taste the green tea..

Very refreshing smell and taste. I have the package open on my desk and the smell of strawberry making me crazy. Excellent blend of green tea, strawberry and papaya makes this tea one of my top favorites. I do double infusion with a pinch of dry from package and enjoy it. Steeping time that I put 4-5 min with drop of honey.

Sipdown! (or at least pretty close to it)

I had my last little bit on its own yesterday. Funny story, I made this one, then when I went to add my milk and sugar, I found out I was out of milk! Booo! So, I went to Tim’s to get a cinnamon roll and I got a couple of the little milk thingys. They didn’t even charge me for it! So sweet!
Anyway, three mins is far too long for this tea. I needed to do more of a 2.5mins or so. It was too strong yesterday.

I’m not sure I’ll miss this one now that it’s out.

I gotta say, tea is such a wonderful thing. Every day it’s something different, even when you think it’s not going to be. And it’s amazing that sometimes all it takes for it to be different is for the water temp to be too high or too low, or if you let it steep a few mins longer or shorter… This world of tea is really something you can experiment with and never get bored.

And even when you think you might be getting bored, mix it up!

Hate that one kind of tea? Try different flavours or mix them together.
Try different amounts of sweetner or no sweetners.
Try that rooibos with milk! Try it straight up!
Try that black tea with honey! Try it with lemon! Try it in sipping cups instead of a mug!
Try a tea variety that you’ve never had before like white tea or pu’erh, or Oolong!
Try a plain tea instead of a crazy flavour, or vis versa.

Tea is really an expression of yourself, I’m finding. And depending on what tea you grab, can really share your mood and feelings about things.

I am constantly asked what teas I have that are good. What is the definition of good? I think all my teas are good in one way or another. And I know that my teas don’t appeal to everyone either. But, I know what I like, and I try to figure out what others like to help them along the way… which is another reason that I love giving friends samples of my teas.

Anyway, I should really get onto the tea!

Steeped this one for 2.5mins today. I’m finding it a lot more subtle and delicious. I almost wonder if I should stick with the shorter steep time for this one so it doesn’t turn bitter and it stays yummy!
I definitely recommend this one. It’s a very nice black tea with a flavour that isn’t too subtle. It’s lets you know that it’s there. It doesn’t get lost when you add things to it either. Very good!

Happy belated birthday to me! My actual birthday was two days ago (Thursday), and I decided to buy myself a small bit of tea. :)
My mom and I went to this wonderful little place that sells tea, and I talked to the lady that owns it and she knows so much about tea it’s amazing. She said something about her degree/qualifications, but I don’t remember the details at this time. Anyway, I told her about my sinus headaches and how I was looking for just a plain basic black tea, and she suggested this one!
The smell is so warm and almost cosy. Who knew that a plain black tea could smell so nice in that way?! I really feel that I need to try more plain black teas. I drink so many flavoured ones and almost completely ignore the plain ones.
Anyway, so I made this one yesterday and I steeped it for like 4 mintues or so, but I found it to be quite strong. I was kind of surprised by it, but today I went ahead and steeped it for 3 mins with one tsp per cup. I’ve added my milk and sugar as always with my black teas, and it is so lovely. It’s definitely close to the orange pekoes I’ve had before, but it has a bit more of a promident flavour to it. I’m really loving it. It’s definitely curbing the plain black tea craving that I’ve had lately, and it’s a great choice for me with all this sinus congestion that is still plaguing me. (I’m thinking if it doesn’t clear up soon, I might go see my doctor. I’m going crazy with this. I might try one of those pots… I don’t remember the exact name that’s suppose to clean out the sinuses. Has anyone tried these before?)
Anyways… that’s all from me for now. :)

Sometimes I forget - simply because so many bad bagged teas are purportedly orange pekoe/Ceylons - that some of them are downright good!

lol it’s so true!

This is an absolutely delightful tea. The hibiscus is a wonderful, sweet floral that manages to be bold but not overpowering. It’s wonderful with the Ceylon, and tastes great at any temperature. I drink it hot in the winter or add a bit of extra sugar and drink it iced in the summer.

Azzrian sent me a good sized pouch of this…thanks a bunch! I’ve had 4 cups this morning. It’s ok…fairly standard but it was handy as I was checking my 400+ emails as I return from a few days off. BOY OH BOY did I miss my tea while I was away!!!!

I really like this as a change to my usual earl. the orange does not overpower the bergamont in my opinion. a good change of pace.

When the hubby and I went to The English Tea Room, this one was the one I ordered as my first pot. I wasn’t disappointed, necessarily, but it was a lot darker than I’d expected. I couldn’t really find the safflower petals, but the jam flavor was there as soon as I got some cream into it. It was very rich, and went excellently with the Scotch egg I’d ordered. :) I probably won’t order that one again, but it was a good one-timer.

I accidentally forgot I had started this steeping this morning, and when I finally remembered it was tepid, with the completely saturated leaves floating listlessly around the teamaker… so I threw it out and started afresh. The marigold petals really help this tea get that “cream” flavor going. I had it sweetened, but I didn’t add any milk, like my husband and I normally do. I just wasn’t feeling it today. It was delicious and smooth, and the flavors weren’t too strong. Just what I was after. n_n

Went to The English Tea Room today and got to try this gem. My husband ordered it, and of course we swap. :) I wish I could say I made a wiser choice than he did, but that would be a lie, because this tea was bloody delicious. It was a much lighter color than I was expecting, from a tea that claims to have Irish Breakfast as its base, but the aroma and the flavor made me forget all that. This tea is everything I want in a flavored black tea—rich, robust tea liquor, a sweet but not overpowering flavoring, and a smooth finish. _ It reminded me some of a wonderful tea I had at a tea house in Birmingham that is, to my everlasting dismay, now closed. That other tea was perfection… but this one comes close.

Black teas are my favorite. This one is delicious. A nice smooth, slightly sweet flavor. The leaves are sweet scented too. This decaf will come in handy when I want a great black tea, but not the caffiene! It could also work as a nice base for another tea. But it works great by itself too!

I went to this tea again this morning, ‘cause I wanted something that would give the illusion of a flavored black tea but not actually have any distinguishable non-tea flavor. (After rereading that sentence, I realize that it doesn’t really make much sense, but that’s the best way I can think of to explain my mood… xP) I just wanted something not quite so heavy as a straight black, but I wasn’t ready to commit to any one (or even two) flavoring(s). Even Earl Grey Creme, my dearest morning friend, smelled too strongly of cornflower to me. (I guess this is what pregnancy does to you… makes you lose your blinking mind.) So anyway, this tea fit the bill, unnecessarily long story short.

It’s very nice with milk and a little sugar (the usual amount, two of Teavana’s “tea spoons,” which are not real teaspoons but rather about 2/3 tablespoon).

I really thought this was the Harney & Sons Royal Wedding tea when I bought it, but I guess I didn’t realize at the time that that one is a white tea. Oops. XD

Nonetheless, this tea is quite worth it. I know that this particular shop does get some of their teas from Harney & Sons, but this one had a handwritten label (which really should have tipped me off, lol). This black tea smells a little familiar, but I suppose that’s probably the copious amounts of largely unadultered Assam in there. :) I bought it for the honeymoon, and it turned out to be a wonderful get-a-good-start-to-a-slow-day tea. _

The flowers are subtle, but sugar brings them out satisfactorily. Not a tea I would sing about from a rooftop, but a delicious cuppa nonetheless. Certainly worth $8.50 for four ounces! Eat your heart out, Teavana! XP

I got up this morning and had a Ciao Amaretto craving, BIG TIME. The cup I made was extremely satisfying, and even though I had a rather hectic day at school, I still look back on that cup with fondness. I love how the cherries and the almonds interact so seamlessly with one another, and I wouldn’t change a thing. I find I can’t steep this one longer than about 2 minutes, but that works for me because I don’t often have a lot of time in the mornings. :)

Had this iced today – yummm. I know it’s hot tea season, but I just came from dance class and wanted to try my Steeper’s iced tea capability (just how they do it in store O:)
Drizzled a little agave over my ice cubes and whala. Instant iced gratification.

I steeped a little long (a tad bitter), but used lots of leaf so my second cup was less bitter. It’s a nice green taste, with a hint of strawberry. And dang the leaves smell good. Can probably get a third cup, here we go!

The Seattle Tea Snob

Curiosity got the best of me, what kind of dance? There is a tiny dance-a-holic trapped inside my body … don’t think about that too much.

Daisy Chubb

Who knew Seattle would be my tiny dancer! :D
Well I’m just taking a Hip Hop class before, but I’ve just finished some Jazz and Ballroom classes :) It’s all good imo

The Seattle Tea Snob

Ah nice, I was a lindy hop addict for a number of years and did a bit of blues, not the sleezy blues though. Considering trying a country two-step or something, haven’t decided yet though. Solo dances aren’t my thing, see I look like crap on the dance floor, but when I’m dancing with a lovely partner no one is looking at me so it doesn’t matter. :-)

Daisy Chubb

Ah I like your thinking! See for me, I’m clumsy and so not graceful at.. well.. both. So I stick to solo so people don’t see me stepping on toes. >_>

I love fall and winter for one thing. Hot tea. sure, you can have hot tea any time of year, but it tastes best when it’s cold outside. And iced tea is great, but it’s not comforting. Today is chilly and windy and I’m drinking hot tea by the potful! I am so comforted right now.

This tea is fabulous. The strawberry flavor is so fresh and juicy. The flavor is like strawberry candy more than real berry, but the clean fresh flavor of the green tea makes the strawberry taste more real and not cloying. Yummy! I love this! Of course, I also love strawberry flavored candies. I love strawberry in all it’s incarnations, actually.

There’s a slight astringency at the end of the sip, but it barely diminishes the tastiness.

I bet this would be really good mixed with some lemongrass. I have to buy some of this!

THanks DaisyChubb!

Another swap adventure! This one does taste like amaretto, at least what I assume amaretto tastes like since I don’t drink much. My husband has been making amaretto coffee and it smelled so good that I had to give this one a try.

Apparently I like the smell of amaretto but not so much the taste. It’s not a bad tea, but it’s not something I’d order for myself. Didn’t hold up for a resteep which doesn’t make me terribly sad.

Glad I got to try it, but it won’t become one of my must-have-at-all-times teas.

Mmm… this tea has a lovely black current aroma that will make you smell it at every sip. Best served with a dash of milk and compliments a nice light dessert very well (such as scones).
