This tea is a ok tea by Darjeeling standards. Its good, but not as good as other Darjeeling I have drank in loose tea form. But this tea is easy to fix as its a tea bag. Easy to find and wakes me up in the morning. It is however one of the better Darjeelings in tea bag form.

I pulled this tea out quickly as I needed to have something nice after the ceylon tea I just drank. This is one of my favorite bagged teas. I’ve been drinking this one for years and I always enjoy it.

Bagged tea this morning as I have things to do. Going on a tea hunt today, I do this a couple times a month, you never know what you will find. Teavana, Williams-Sonoma, T.J. Maxx, Christmas Tree Shop, etc… I always have this tea in my cupboard. My parents used Twinings teas as it was the only quality tea they could find at the time. So bear in mind that I am very used to this tea and probably biased as well. It just feels like home when I drink this tea. I like the amounts of bergamot in it and it tastes like home.

This is the first earl grey I ever drank and is also my favorite. The amount of bergamot in the brew seems almost perfect to me. I really enjoy this tea.

As so often with Twinings this tea does not keep up with what it is promising. Nice tea box. Great fragrance of the leafs. But average brew…

After steeping the leafs (very hot, 3-4min) the brew is able to carry its fragrance very well. Taste seems dull. No magic is happening. All I taste is old tobacco. Aftertaste is acid…
Second brew does not carry flavor anymore which is unusual for a Chinese black tea, especially if it is coming from the Fujian province.
To me only drinkable after steeping in a highball glass on low temperature (65 degrees Celcius). It even gets a mellow, sweet aftertaste.
Had much better Lapsangs that were sold in small, independent tea shops around the globe (Germany, Thailand) without brand name…

It is not the first tea that I purchased from this pride-filled and well established company that has left me standing in the rain with a quite average, therfore rather disappointing cup of tea.

Rough, very strong teas are used for this blend. Ceylon or Assam would be my guess.
Anyways, the fragile scent of the bergamot hardly gets a chance to break through no matter how often I alter water temperature, steeping time or amount of tea leafs.

Interesting…I’ve always preferred Twinings to the other brands I’ve tried for E.G. because it has a very “clean” tea taste with just enough bergamot. Different strokes for different folks, I guess!

…I honestly start thinking that maybe there is something wrong with me after I read the comments of other drinkers to this tea.I do remember one comment in particular where someone describes the smell that fills the room just by opening the box of leafs. And that exectly is the point…the fragrance, which is great, promises a very fruity brew, very rich in citrus notes. But that is not the case due the strong blend of tea leafs.

This is not Ceylon or Assam teas. It’s 100% China teas.

The king of western tea culture. Untouchable…
Just careful with the type of milk you are using. Some types leave a unpleasant aftertaste on one’s tongue.

Indeed, very pleasant to drink. Everytime a winner especially when I serve it to the ladies…
Quite refreshing, a very harmonious balance of flavors. The color of the brew is very appealing.
Recommend to serve the tea leafs in a tall glass ( or glass tea pot) so one can whatch the dry leafs unfold and admire the colorful ingredients of the blend. Therefore you might want to go a bit lower with the water temperature (85 degrees Celcius). Also take it easy with the portioning…otherwise the tannins break through as you will not set the glass to your lips after exactly 3 minutes and whatever seconds…well, only a suggestion.

This blend has a profound, almost spicy note without milk. Its taste is insuring one that nicely fermented leafs from Yunnan & Anhui have been used for this blend. Be generous with the portioning. Use the water at boiling point and keep steeping it for 3.30min. Second brew can be made with 4.30min steeping time…
Adding milk would break the spell of magic that is happening on one’s taste palate. Seriously!
Although it has a great flavor it really is a mild tea for afternoons.
Would not be my first choice for breakfast.
By the way, I compared loose leaves of this blend with tea bag. Bags are rubbish in flavor but surprisingly more awakening…

…Lately I do enjoy it a lot with 2 slices of lemon in my cup. The earthy flavors still push through nicely.

This is the tea I probably drink more than any other. I’ve tried other Earl Grey teas but none really come close.

2 sugars with lemon or just lemon depending on my mood.

Not the world’s best tea in terms of quality, but it’s good for a quick Sunday morning cup. Pleasant aroma, subtle citrus flavors. It just hits the spot.

This is a great selection of tea. In each box you get 25 individually wrapped sachets. It is a nice little introduction to Twinings range of mellow and soothing infusions.
Naturally caffeine free, I prefer these tea’s cooled or chilled.
I would go so far as to say that they are a little piece of heavenly relaxation in a tea cup.

I liked this fruity refreshing tea. I do agree it is better once it has cooled or served chilled.
