I steeped this thinking it was a black tea. I suspected after steeping that I might be wrong due to the very floral aroma, so I attempted a Google Translate search of the wrapper. Turns out it’s a jasmine green tea! Though perhaps a little bitter, I’m pleasantly surprised that I didn’t wreck the cup. I love florals so if I’m going to drink a green tea, the more flowers the better. If you’re wondering how I came to have a tea I’m ignorant about in my possession (maybe you’re not), my husband has a friend who occasionally returns home to China and sometimes brings back different teas for us to try. He told me once his favorites are green teas so I should have guessed that is what this would be.
