this is more of an orange tea than a cranberry tea…and it comes across as slightly artificial to me. I did my usual “don’t steep this for very long” as with most of franks teas. Overall, pretty lackluster.

(also…this brings me to 247, which is where my lovely tea sister ended last night. Not sure if she’s up and about drinking tea yet but it’s time to get down to business lol)

Terri HarpLady

Lol, I just woke up!

Sil

good! that buys me some time… i’ve got stupid work to deal with today :(

Terri HarpLady

That ok, I’ll be it’d up with a wedding & reception for several hours.

Another tea from the HHTTB, & a sipdown. There wasn’t much left of this, so Drew used it all. I tried a small sip.
:p tastes artificial

This tastes terrible and I am putting it into soil and not back into the traveling tea box. Time has not treated it well.

It tastes like perfume. Not in the floral way but that way when you accidentally spray a fruitier scent into/near your face and you happen to be breathing at the time.

Dinosara

That is a very vivid description. Blech.

Thanks for this one, TeaEqualsBliss!

I just ate a soft pretzel, whatever that brand is you can buy at the grocery store. I hadn’t had them in AGES so I was quite surprised when I took one out of the bag. I know I’ve clearly gotten bigger but they seem to have gotten much smaller at the same time! I made this iced and it was done at about the same time, which was amusing.

It’s the perfect accompaniment to a salty snack. It’s sweet, but not in a candy-like way. The peach flavoring actually tastes like peach! The cranberry I don’t get as much but it’s definitely got a tart presence in here.

This makes a very good iced tea, I’ll have to try it hot too though. It’s refreshing and I’m glad it has aged well because it is tasty!

I made a lot of tea last night and this morning, but this is the last of them! I cold-brewed this one for the bf, since strawberry and chocolate are some of his favorite flavors, though I am not a huge fan. I was worried that this would be weird cold, since, well… I’ve never had chocolate iced tea. Thankfully, it works pretty well! The strawberry isn’t that prominent (next time I’ll chop up some actual berries and add them), but the chocolate surprisingly is. At first it just tastes like a nice black iced tea with a hint of berry, and then at the end of the sip it’s quite chocolatey. Not heavy mouthfeel decadent chocolate, more light and airy. It’s pretty nice, but I’m not going to rate this one as it’s not my thing. Thankfully there’s someone in my house who loves it—and he’s a bit pickier about teas than I am sometimes, so it’s always nice when I find something that he loves!

Sounds refreshing!

Thank you to LiberTeas for this one!

I really like this one. I found that the cranberry was more prominent than the apple, which I caught more on the finish. I did expect the flavours overall to be a little more noticeable (based on the scent of the leaves, which was quite strong) but this is a very good tea the way it is. I will rate this tea next time I review it – the slider bar for ratings won’t work on this computer.

Thank you TeaEqualsBliss for sending me abit of this to try. Thank you very much. Now I am not a fan of bananas in tea I much refer it in baked goods and them by thereselfs I decided to give this tea a try anyway. This tea mostly tastes like banana with abit of creaminess and tang. I think this tea is decent I would rate this in the 60’s. I did like the cheesecake part though.

Had 24oz. w/ my favorite home-made panini:
chicken patty
a slice of breaded eggplant
goat cheese w/ crushed red pepper
a slice of roasted red pepper
a slice of tomato
Miracle Whip on one side of the French bread, Fat Free Italian dressing on the other.

In spite of their being no “cream”… and virtually no peach… it’s a pretty good iced tea that pairs very well.

Made a gallon of this cold and drank 32oz of it… raw leaf is slightly peach scented, but also has floral/perfumey notes… tastes a bit like peaches… spicifically peach COBBLER. Way more bakey than I expected it to be (since I didn’t expect it to be bakey at all). Still floral and perfumey… not creamy… hmmm… not gonna rate it til I can figure it out.

Number 3 from my clearance box! This one wasn’t that great. It kind of tasted and smelled dusty. It seems that some of the tea leaves got smashed up in transit. The tea was very fine and leaking through my infuser, kind of like roobios. I am gonna try making it in my teapot which has a finer mesh which will hopefully fix the problem. I think I would enjoy it outside that fact. It seemed like a pretty decent black tea so I am gonna hold of on the rating for the time being.

codylynnclark

That’s disappointing… I love all things pumpkin. (I need to find myself a finer strainer. I only have one that’s rooibos-friendly, and it’s starting to take a beating.)

Cofftea

Unfortunately I agree w/ you. I was expecting to have a similar experience (only better since it is Frank lol) to Adagio’s Sweet Potato Pie.

Caitlin

Yeah – I love all things pumpkin too! Pumpkin bread is one of my favorites! And yeah I could use a new strainer as well, maybe that’s part of the problem – haha

Caitlin

How is the sweet potato pie? I was curious about that flavor. I love sweet potatoes as much as pumpkin!

Cofftea

It’s REALLY good, although the sweet potato comes across more in texture than the flavor.

Caitlin

Next time I order from them I’ll have to get a sample

Hot it is pretty good.
I think the honey evens out all of the possible tangyness that could have come from the combination of black tea and strawberries. Smart flavor combination.

Cold… don’t drink it cold or cooling down or anything like that. It gets a medicinal, bitter and just weird weird quality to it.

I actually don’t think i can rate this numerically since the difference between hot and cold is soooo drastic.

This is from the here’s hoping traveling teabox!

This was good, non-bitter black tea. The flavor of orange and cranberry get lost but this is a mellow tea. It has a nice sweetness for having no sugar.

Thank you Tea-Sipper for setting up the teabox!

Got some of this from The Tea Sipper in trade, so trying it out.

I agree with most of the posters that I really don’t get much flavour out of this, mostly faintly in the aftertaste but it doesn’t linger. What I do taste doesn’t really do anything for me. I’m not sure if it’s that I don’t really like the black base or what, but something just seems a bit off in this tea for me. Can’t say I like it much at all.

Another one from the tea box! Thanks for including it, Alphakitty! Teas to write tasting notes for the traveling tea box will slow down soon, since I will be mailing it on Wednesday. I can’t wait to see all of the reviews for the teas I added to the box (and also for the teas in the traveling teabox that I’m starting — doesn’t matter if they be good or bad reviews)! I knew before I sipped this one that it wouldn’t be mindblowingly delicious, since I feel like what has became 52Teas rather than Zoomdweebies has improved over the years. There is a bit of a chocolate flavor here & not much strawberry, on a decent black tea. I actually expected less chocolate. But as time goes on, 52Teas will keep getting more and more amazing, as the blends are already amazing these days. I think I’ve called 52Teas wizards, magicians… or both in the past!

Got this one from Tea Sipper I think. All my samples are in a pile so I’d have to go back through my messages to be completely sure.

I sipped some of this before stirring the teaspoon of sugar in and the tangy cranberry flavour came out but there was a bitter aftertaste to me. Post sugar, the bitterness is muted, but still there. I am picking up mostly cranberry with hints of citrusy sweetness. This is an okay tea, but I’m glad that I only have a sample to drink through.

I got this tea in a swap from Tea Sipper, thanks!

I can taste the cherry in this tea very strongly, much more than the cranberry. The addition of sugar seems to have brought out a sort of cough-syrup-esque flavour that isn’t too terrible, but isn’t that great either. Less sugar next cup and I might change my rating.

I received this one in Rachel’s fire sale! Thank you! This one has orange peels in it. Not any of the actual edible parts of an orange… just the peel. Oranges are usually not my thing in teas! This definitely tasted more like orange peels than oranges. I couldn’t taste much cranberry. The black tea as usual for Zooms is a nice base to let the flavors stand out. This isn’t my favorite Zoomdweebies! I’m still amazed I’m the only one to write a tasting note for their maple blueberry. I feel like Zoomdweebies teas are the less flavorful cousin to 52Teas.

Also, what’s the deal with Zoomdweebies? Do they not exist anymore? Any search just goes to the 52Teas page.

Uniquity

I think Zoomdweebies was pre 52teas? I’m guessing that your tea is pretty old. Though of course I could have missed something. : )

tea-sipper

Hmm..none of the Zoom blends really taste old. This one was an unopened package. I have no idea though. I always worry about my teas getting too old, but that is tough when I don’t know how old they were when I got them.

Angrboda

As I recall it Frank initially had a teashop/cafe (not internet) called Zoomdweebies but it closed. He sold the Zoomdweebie ‘left-overs’ through 52teas, so technically it’s the same thing. That was a couple of years ago, so I have to agree with Uniquity that your tea must be fairly old at this point. It’s not unlikely that the flaovur has faded a bit.

A big thanks to TeaEqualsBliss :]
At first I was like…. no…. I don’t like pecans…. But then I was going through my little sample/swap drawer and thought ok, we’ll give this a try. And I’m happy I did :] It is not overly nutty but still has a sweetness to it. I like it :] I think I may try it blended with a bit of my Pumpkin Spice tea. Mmmm…. :]

Thanks for including this in our swap, TeaEqualsBliss! I had to steep this one a while to get any steep color at all in the tea. The flavor isn’t bad, and obviously cran and cherry would work well together. The cherry seems more like a mild sour cherry. It just seems like many of the Zoomdweebie’s I’ve had have cranberry in them! Also, the black tea flavor barely exists which I guess will showcase the other flavors better.

Ancient Alphabet challenge – P

Not only one of Frank’s blends but a ZOOMDWEEBIES blend. Now that is Old. I thought the flavor was completely gone, but no, brewed just right, I can definitely taste a bit of peaches and cream. Wow.

This starts with a nice black tea base. It shouldn’t have too much flavor, or it takes away from the flavors that are added to it. I steeped this the other day and there wasn’t much flavor at ALL. Today, I must have steeped it perfectly because every sip has a peach and cream flavor. YUM But I still wish there was more flavor to it. I never have actual cream, probably because I don’t drink coffee. I literally drank more coffee when I was three years old. But I’m starting to think I love all creamy teas! I keep wanting to steep my new favorite every day – Earl Grey Creme!

Thank you TeaEqualsBliss for sharing this with me!
Just goes to show an old tea can still be a good tea!
Yeah that was slightly punny.
Anyway lol this is nice and very refreshing – actually while I am having it hot I am thinking this would be excellent iced!
Due to a generous trade partner I have plenty to try it that way then may pass it to someone else to try since this seems to be obsolete now and is still quite good!

Natural flavors no artificial junk here!

I will send the rest to Amanda! I think she will enjoy it.

momo

I welcome more to my new world of appreciating orange haha
