My last sample from laurent of nina’s paris once again i’m thanking you to be able to try this!

I’m noticing puffed rice and black and green tea leafs in this blend. The dry leaf smell a bit like a caramel toffee. I’m brewing this with near boiling water for about 3min and the result is a nice dark amber brown liquor that still smells like a toffee!

I’m hoping my tasting buds are not going to mess up my sample because i woke up today having a terrible cold and i’ve been coughing almost whole day now… anyway here we go!

With my first few marginal sips (because its to hot!) i’m noticing light vanilla taste but i’m going to led it cool down a bit more first… ok its cooled enough now and i’m tasting caramel with a hint off vanilla its a light blend with a very soft taste probably because the green leafs mixed in. I’m not really noticing the rice but hey i’m having a cold so i’m not functioning correct!

once again a tea that i would buy in the future!

o my being scared to try this i almost forgot i had this sample in my kitchen. Well i’m curious because it is suppose to be very healthy but… if i read the other reviews its going to be a strange thing to drink. Anyway i’m thanking infussion.eu for those 3 samples from there where 2 i really really liked!

I’m opening the package and i see dark brown berry’s. They are pretty big and smell strange. Using 2 teaspoon off leaf for my rather big infuser with boiling water and i’m letting it sit there for 10min like suggested…

The color of my brew is a yellowish light brown like substance and smells funny! The drink while still very hot tastes sour like expected but its not that bad like i expected. Its a bit like lemon juice bit then again its no lemon juice! I’m surprised. i’m comparing this to gini or a tonic you drink on a hot summer day…

Then again its not something i love, but for anyone willing to try this very weird and strange sounding berry. I really would say try a sample!

my second steep for about 5min in boiling water brings out a similar taste but gone with the sour start. So i’m guessing i used to many leafs in my first brew. Everything that’s in this tea’s discription comes out in flavor. i’m guessing i got it correct this time around.

Overall a very good tea tough i’m still not so in love with apple taste in my tea. Thats just a personal favor and is not going to effect my scoring for this brew. U can really notice its a good quality tea with good flavors in it!

Well where do we start with this second sample i’m going to try from nina’s tea. I’m still happy to be able to try these samples laurent did send out to me!

I’m seeing these dry leaf mixed in with a few tiny rose pedals. It looks good but nothing to special when dry. Upon steeping i’m noticing a very dark colored brew that smells like… rose!

The 3min steep with boiling water seems a bit long for my first brew. I’m finding the rose flavors to be a bit to sour but then again its been a while that i had a rose flavored tea. Still trying to get myself reminded that the sour taste probably isn’t only from the rose because there are apple notes in this blend. Can’t really tell this in my first cup tough. Maybe its because i never had a rose/apple blend or maybe i’m just to bad in tasting apples in a hot drink.

Have to say i’m still enjoying my first cup and i’m sure to update this note (or make a new one) when i’m onto my second or maybe even like some people suggest third cup!

already updating my note:

My first cup is cooled alot more now and i’m kind off starting to sort out and get my head into the apple taste! Its really like some people mention apple taste with rose instead off the rose with a little bit apple i was expecting… very curious now for the other cups i’m going to try

drank Je t'Aime by Nina's Paris
113 tasting notes

Received my samples almost 2months after shipment, a bit late but then again a very very nice surprise! Thanks Laurent for the samples!

First up is je t’aime!

The dry leaf smells strongly to vanilla and caramel, very strong even. I’m brewing this 2 times like i do with all my blacks. First cup is a brew for 3min on boiling water.

The color of the brew is very dark and smells more like vanilla and less caramel. My first sips off the tea reveal a soft tasting vanilla aroma with hints off caramel. The caramel is not ruling the cup but thats maybe because its still a bit to hot. When its cooled alot more i’m noticing the caramel as a very nice after taste.

This is a very good first cup and i’m enjoying how smooth it tastes, pretty sure i’m going to order this in near future. But from nina’s european branch in paris…

yes i’m feeling all guns being pointed at me right now! yes i’m drinking a bagged tea for a change because i’m in a need for time!

Anyway enough with the fun stuff time for a quick review:

I’ve been drinking this bagged for a pretty long time now, because i’m actually liking the quality and thats a strange thing for a bagged tea. Maybe because this isn’t really a tea in the real sense off the word. Liking the coconut, cocoa taste in this one and thats a bit all i have to say! Easy to make quick to drink, don’t get bitter fast like most other bagged stuff…

going to make a quick update about this one.

Setting aside its way less smokey then your average lapsang the subtile tastes this tea gives makes it a exellent medium body tea. I’m appreciating it a bit more then a couple off days ago. Maybe it has something to do with the expectations i had being more in the other direction, i’m not really sure but well… enjoying this again!

Been almost a month when i last uploaded a tasting note!

Here we go got this bohea lapsang a while ago, but just about now got to tasting it.

The dry leaf look like plain regular black tea leafs they smell a little bit smokey. Way less smokey then i expected it to be. So now i’m going to make a brew for 3min with boiling water. The color off the steep is a deep dark brown and smells again less smokey then i expected. But i’m tasting tea thats smoked, so thats a good thing!

I really don’t like when the smoke taste is overwhelming this one is gentle, maybe even a bit to gentle. I’m liking it tough a good tea but not sure if i’m going to order it alot. Thing is that they got a superior quality in there range so maybe i need to look there next time!

My second tea from canton and my very first ‘first flush’ darjeeling so i’m a bit curious how the taste is going to compare with the tasting notes that are on the package.

The leafs are small curly brown but after the infusion they are bigger then i was expecting.
I’m brewing this for 3min with near boiling water with one heaped teaspoon. The color off the liquor turns out to be a golden light brown brew that looks very appealing to the eye.

Its a light tea no bitterness at all in my first few sips it reminds me abit off nillgiri frost (the one from jingtea i reviewed a while ago). I’m tasting the mentioned notes off dark chocolat, but the other notes are not that present in my cup. Maybe i should pick a few more leaf in my next brew, but for now i’m happy!

Because i never had a other first flush only had a few 2nd flush darjeelings its fine to say that its lighter in taste and maybe even comparable with some oolong tea’s in quality.
