Breville Tea Maker (best deals? better hardware?)

Hello all! I’ve been out of the tea world for a bit of a time but I want to get back into the swing of things. I was thinking of reinvesting in a Breville Tea Maker, since those were popular a couple years ago. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to get the best deal?

Also, is there a better piece of hardware that has replaced the Breville? Let me know. Thanks!

I know you can get them with a coupon at Bed Bath & Beyond. I’ve never really seen them go on sale. I was looking at them for awhile, but I’ve learnt in the meantime that I like to have lots of different types of tea in a day, so the Breville is too constrictive for my style of brewing.

There was a kickstarter for a new type of tea maker that functions similarly to the Breville a short time back. I don’t recall the name of it though.

Welcome back to the world of tea!

I still use my Breville and I love it. I don’t know where the best deals are for it though. I wish I could help you there.

But I wanted to chime in because I wanted to recommend that when you do get one, be sure to register it with Breville! I got my first Breville well over four years ago (closer to five years now), and I registered it. Last year (it’s weird to think of 2014 as last year) I broke the jug and I was devastated because they don’t sell these separately because they’re too expensive to manufacture and to sell them individually would not be cost effective for Breville.

Anyway, when I called them, they at first said they could offer me a 20% coupon toward a replacement machine. Later, I got a call from Breville and they offered to send me a refurbished replacement if I sent them the base unit. Yay! So, I can’t recommend enough that you take the time to register it – if I hadn’t registered it, they probably wouldn’t have made that offer to me.

A hearty welcome back to your tea enjoyment! The Breville tea brewer and variable temp kettle is one of those products that rarely goes on sale. Bed Bath Beyond as the other commenter mentioned is probably you’re best deal. On occasion albeit rarely, there is a promotion on Sur la Table.

Have you heard of the Sharp Healsio Ocha Presso? For those that enjoy matcha, this appears to be a revolutionary tea maker. It’s the espresso machine for tea enthusiasts! See it here: http://everythingfortea.com/product-category/tea-makers/

Would love to learn about anyone’s experience with this new machine.

Best wishes for a New Year filled with tea and happiness.

I have to say that I think the Breville is still the best. I’ve only seen it at a reduced price using the coupon at Bed Bath and Beyond. I’ve never had a problem with mine but I would urge you to register it.

Check out the very humorous PomeGranatePhone.com. I’m still waiting for this one to come out ;p
