Steepster Bug Status Thread
A tasting note I wrote a few days ago is appearing on my tea log but not the page for the tea. I know it was for that tea though, since my rating for the tea is at the top of the page. I also know the tasting note was there the other day.
The tea I noticed this with is 52Teas Mango Pineapple Habanero, if that helps.

If that’s the right one, it looks like it’s there now. If that’s the case, I’m guessing it was a temporary caching issue. Do you have any idea how long it took before the post was displayed on the tea page?
I dont come in this thread much but reviews disappearing is really not much fun! especially when I use this site to re-buy teas I like….
Do you know why this keeps happening?
I was able to add my local tea room. When I went to edit my listing, it told me I have to be a member for 1 month to do that. I also couldn’t add a photo. I’ve only been a member for a few days.
That’s not a bug. It’s basically a safety feature. We get spam accounts and this is a way of limiting their impact. It happened to me too when I joined years ago. Don’t worry, that month flies by.
I guess what I’m wondering is why I can post something if I can’t edit it? If I can post a tea shop at all, isn’t that an open door for spam, how is the ability to edit it adding anymore to the risk. I’d vote to not let new people like me add a business until the probation period has passed. If I got the address, business hours, website or some other bit of information wrong and didn’t notice it at first, it has to be wrong for the rest of my probation period. It’s not my tea shop BTW.
We have had some bad spammers on here. It is just a safety feature. My month went by quick as I tried to read about everything on here. Hopefully it won’t aggravate you too bad so we can keep ya around here. Great community here.
Thanks mrmopar. It’s not a big deal to me but wanted to share the experience related to adding a listing for a tea room and not being able to edit it, in case that hadn’t happened before. Thanks to both of you for the insight. I’m here to stay.
I’m seeing duplicate entries for all of teavivre’s teas…but they’re identically duplicated including the number of reviews posted for each tea, picture etc….
I stopped receiving notifications of anything (follows, likes, comments, discussion board activity, etc.) a few days ago – still not resolved yet. Just wondering if I’m the only one?
I’m also having that issue – still getting emails for threads I follow, but no notices/notifications on Steepster. I can’t tell when ppl are liking/commenting on my notes D:
Hmm, there was some basic SSL stuff that Mike updated over the weekend. Maybe an issue was created with the deploy. We’ll take a look. Thanks for letting us know!
Weird…can one of you go comment on some of my tasting notes, etc? I’m still getting notifications…
Interesting, I’m getting all the notifications (I’ve been getting notifications for followers too). Gonna have to look into this more to figure out what’s happening.
I haven’t had a notification in 12 days now. I checked my browser as I was running DuckDuckgo but even on Google nothing.
I’m slow to notice my lack of notices, but here, too. Nothing but stuff within the past 30 days.
@Kaylee Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to recreate the issue – we’re getting all of our notifications (which is why I knew you posted so recently) and we haven’t been able to figure out the problem yet. Hopefully we’ll have it figured out shortly.
They definitely aren’t getting flagged as spam or anything, right?
@Jason I’m still getting email notifications for discussion board posts. I’m not getting any notifications on my Steepster dashboard (likes, comments on tasting notes, or discussion board comments).
@Kaylee: Yea, that’s what other people were reporting too – yes to discussion board notifications but no to all other notifications. The weird thing is that we’re still getting all of them….

Yeah all my notices are 23 days since I received any of them. I am getting emails but not on the dashboard function. I know you are super busy as well.
I don’t receive any DMs notifications or any replies if I’m participating in the threads. It’s been for a few months like this not days.
Oh wait, are you talking about notifications on your dashboard, under the Notices tab? I think that might be what you’re talking about. I thought you were talking about email notifications, which I’m still receiving.
I just checked my dashboard and I also don’t have any notifications, so assuming that’s what you mean, I’m seeing that too.

Yep, notices on your dashboard should be back now. We weren’t able to retroactively trigger them for the time while it was broken. But going forward they should be working as normal.
I’ve tried to update the tea images using URL for Pluckley Tea and Yorkshire Tea Gold but they are not showing the new photos. Also for Pluckley Tea it seems to be getting some kind 404 on the image.

Tasting Notes Not Saving – Acknowledged
Not sure what the status is, but I can still only post one photo per day when I’m adding teas (this was a problem months ago — still doing the same thing.) Thanks!
This is one photo per tea. The first photo of the day loads. If I try to load a photo for another tea, it doesn’t appear when it is updated. Thanks Jason!
I couldn’t specifically remember which teas, so I just added two more to the system:

Does it only happen when you try to add a photo when on the “Edit tea” page, or when you click the “+” image in the “From the community” section? Or both?
Hmm, in both cases I’m able to upload multiple photos. Maybe you could email me the photo files you’re trying to upload and I can try using those?
I didn’t even know the ‘from the community’ section could add pictures. I just tried when you mentioned it, so in the past it has definitely only been the ‘edit tea’ page that hasn’t been working for me. Just not sure why it always works the first time in a day but never the second time or any other time. When you save do you refresh the page after it reloads the tea page? I know that sometimes your local browser cache won’t have updated yet so it can look like it hasn’t been updated even though it actually has.
No, the second photo of the day will never appear for me even days or months later. Not sure why. This isn’t something that will make me stop loving Steepster or anything!
A couple of us are having issues with the tea page for Happy Kombucha; it’s viewable but the formatting it weird/off and when we click to review the tea we’re redirected to the Steepster login page.
So far I’m not having the same issues with any other tea.
(I’m using the most updated version of Chrome, if that makes a difference.)
