BECOMING AN OFFICIAL NANNUOSHAN TEA TASTER
The numbers: 19 tasters for 121 tea samples collected in about 24 hours!

The first batch will be shipped tomorrow. The other will follow with a shipment every 2-3 days. You will be notified by email as soon as your parcel has been sent.
Among all participants, two persons will get the opportunity to become Official Nannuoshan Tea Taster.
The Nannuoshan Tea Tasters will receive preview samples of our new teas, before they will be available online.
Their reviews will be taken into consideration when describing the tea on www.nannuoshan.org. This way we would like to offer our customers impartial tea descriptions, merging our opinion with yours.
Moreover, out of each batch reviewed, the tea taster will get 30g of its favorite tea.
These batches are eager to be judged by the tea tasters:
- 6 Phoenix Single Bush (a unique opportunity to compare so many Phoenix Oolongs at a time)
- 3 Taiwan Oolongs (comparing high-mountain Taiwan tea)
- Spring 2015 green teas (sent directlyfrom the tea plantations in China; hard to get fresher Chinese green tea in your gaiwan)
This opportunity will be given to the two of you writing the best free samples reviews.
The best reviews are NOT those with the highest rates.
We will evaluate your reviews according to the following criteria:
- Professionalism (in terms of quality and quantity)
- Completeness (appearance of dry leaves, smell of wet leaves, color of infusion, taste, changes in following infusions…)
- Concision (avoid being long-winded like me in this message; getting to the point is of importance for us)
- Distinguish objective judgement from personal taste (reading personal opinion on steepster’s reviews is interesting; on our website we prefer to offer unbiased, objective descriptions)
A last hint: avoid using only general description terms (good, interesting, light, heavy) as well as giving a tea the whole spectrum of possible flowery, fruity, cereal tastes.
So, how do you like this?
Avoid being long winded, hehe, that counts me out. Though I do agree with Sil, this is great!
I think I’m still too new to be considered for this, but it’s a wonderful idea for the more experienced tea drinkers here. What a great way to get your teas out there and give others the opportunity to try them.

some of you already received the samples and started writing reviews. Thank you very much for your time and effort!
We are sincerely impressed by the details your provide and are glad that the reviews reflects also our impression of the teas.
Personally, what I am enjoying most, is recognizing the writing-style of the reviewers. It is very interesting to notice how each of you express her/his own sensations and feelings with a distinctive writing style.
Some of you wrote us personal messages asking when their samples will arrive.
We are sending 3-4 parcels a week and have a total of 19 parcels to dispatch. You will be notified as soon as your parcel has been sent. Please be patient, and thank you for your understanding.
Another remark worth mentioning: we at nannuoshan make no difference between customers coming from different places of the world. The company is located in Berlin, Germany. But the shipping costs are the same worldwide!
No difference if you live in Berlin, somewhere in Germany, Europe, USA, Australia… The price will be the same!
We are on online shop. The World Wide Web is global and everyone on this planet should be treated with the same rights; that’s what we think and explain the reason behind our price policy!
So how much does the shipping cost?
- 5 euro for orders below 20 euro.
- Nothing for orders above 20 euro.
As you may imagine, it is a big effort for us to offer so low shipping cost, worldwide. So we would be very very grateful if you could place less big orders rather than many small orders.
It would help keeping this shipping policy affordable also in the future.
It is not gonna work if all of you place orders of 20.01 euro :)

Dear all,
We have sent out almost all samples and will dispatch the last three orders early next week.
We have enjoyed very much reading your tasting notes and reviewing them has been hard work. We have already reviewed 43 notes, each of them according to 11 different criteria.
In the next weeks we will select the two nannuoshan official tea tasters. They will be given the opportunity to be the first to try the new tea that we will be sourcing in China this year.
Flights are booked! We will be tea hunting in China from the end of March till the end of April! We really look forward to be among tea bushes, happy pickers and wise tea masters.

Boychik, your parcel was sent two weeks ago. USA post service is slower than the Canadian, but you should receive the samples in the next days.
Blodeuyn, unfortunately you are the last of nineteen participants; your tea will be shipped next week so you need to be patient another couple of weeks.

Back home after a tea sourcing journey in China, I finally had the time to complete the review of your tea notes.
You took the task very seriously. I wasn’t expecting all this commitment. Thank you very much!

Creaming off the nineteen participants to select two Official Nannuoshan Tea Tasters was difficult. In fact I wasn’t able to really select just two of you.
Five persons were clearly emerging. Three of them will receive a private message proposing to become a nannuoshan tea taster.
The Nannuoshan Tea Tasters will receive preview samples of our new teas and there are quite a few at the moment before they will be available online.
