I think I’m going to bow out for the second round, but would be interested if you do a third. :)

I agree that those involved should strive for better packaging, as I felt the need to repackage a few teas into thicker plastic sample bags when I had the box.

I really enjoyed this box, and got a lot out of it. The idea of taking samples was great, because it was an opportunity to try a lot of different teas, and left enough for others to try them too. It did get a bit overwhelming in size. I’m not sure if that was because of the amazing generosity of the people involved, or the weight of the packaging of all the individual teas, but by the time I shipped it, the shipping cost was pretty high. I would still do it again though. The experience was great!

I was in the beginning of the box and it cost me $10 and change to shop it one state over. I imagine it got pricey toward the end.

I’m swimming in tea over here, so I think I’ll bow out for the next round.

Overall I thought this was a great box. The only issue I encountered was with packaging that wasn’t sealed well. And I agree sandwich bags aren’t thick enough to put tea in either. Especially for shou that might scent other teas in the box.

I would like to be on the list. I don’t have much pu’erh currently… but if I get on the list I will go ahead and hit up WYMM, grab some sticky rice sheng from Tehku, and then also find unusual stuff on Aliexpress.
Don’t feel bad if I don’t make it though.

P.S. I’ve been stocking up on these baggies they sell in Japan that are made for foods. They keep scents out and they are thicker than sandwich bags. They come in different sizes with a place to write on them. Depending on the sizes they range from 24 to 55 per package you buy and each package cost $1 (super cheap).
Whoever early on would like to repackage the teas that are in sandwich baggies should contact me and I can go ahead and hook you up with some quality packaging… just know that it means transferring and labeling which could take some time. Even if I’m not in this round, I’d like to help out.

I’d love to join in, based on the time frame (I am moving late July and early August). I have acquired moderate amounts of pu (enough for enabling and beginning to try and build a second climate control zone for my shou, sheng has one) but am still exploring my way around the mountains.

I have smell proof sample baggies i use for swaps!

You both expressed interest in this box last time out. Still interested?

So I was really looking forward to this 2nd round. Turns out I was not allowed to participate because I didn’t have enough puerh in my cupboard.

Here is proof that I have plenty to share with my steepster buddies.

Now I know my cupboard doesn’t show much of anything, but I feel I could have been asked before being completely disallowed to participate. Common courtesy. My work schedule doesn’t allow me too much time to fill my cupboard. The short amount of time I do have I use to discuss on steepster. So for the next person who organizes a Sheng and shou ttb. The link above proves I have enough to contribute. Hope everyone enjoys the ttb. It is great.

Is that how this works? I have not heard whether I can participate either, wondering if I’ve been screened out somehow.

Dr Jim said

As I’ve said in previous posts, there is a screening process. I usually handle this via PM. If I have concerns, you’ve heard from me.

I haven’t posted a list yet, because I’m still waiting to hear from a couple of people, but at this time the list looks like this:

kieblera5, Phi, TheLastDodo, Awkward Soul / Oolong Owl, Cheri, Brenden (Whispering Pines), Stephanie, AnnaEA, Rich, Dr Jim

This is probably the order, but it is possible there will be one or two names on the list. I just got the contribution from Whispering Pines, and hope to get the box in the mail early next week.

I did not hear from you about your concern in regards to my cupboard. I sent you a pm with a confirmation of my participation for round 2, that is when you said I didn’t have enough in my cupboard to participate. So your concerned was never brought up with me. I would have let you known I had more than enough to contribute to the box.
