Butiki sponsored educational traveling tea box! List posted - on the move!

OK guys, many many of you haven’t included which state or province you are in. It makes it really difficult to make an efficient postal route. I’m going to bump this for that info (please just edit your post) and check back on Wednesday to make a final list.

I was hoping to get some more people to update their locations, but I will put the list together tomorrow.

If people don’t get back to you and you still have a spot, can you add me? I am in Denver, Colorado and I accepted the disclaimer.

Wow. Only one person? Bummer.

I’m gonna guess something went wonky with formatting. Maybe the use of a “-” ?

That was really weird, when I hit edit I could see all of the content, then I saved and it’s there again.

I didn’t realize there were two Butiki boxes.. I should read these things better. Any more room on the list (Virginia)?

Was I skipped on purpose? It’s fine if I’m not included this time around, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t skipped accidentally. Thanks

The list was so long, and it’s essentially the same as the last box.

Oh alright, that’s fine then.. didn’t know it was almost the same as last time.

Woot! I got the box Friday (I just now realized I should have posted here instead of on Steepster chat). My sister came over Saturday and we tried a few teas together: I like the Vietnamese green and dong ding I tried, we tried a few whites and some of those were o.O I swear the Hawaiian White tasted like Rye Bread. We tried the really long leafy green ones and didn’t get much flavor.

I LOVED the 2g of fermented bancha. I need to go purchase enough to brew a full glass asap. There was just only 2g of it… so I did a half full Gaiwan, and it had a nectar taste to it. Had a glass of the Golden Dragon black from Taiwan, and I don’t think that is really my style, it kinda reminded me of a more astringent Yunnan black. But I loved the Taiwanese Assam (well one of them, there were a couple and I went with which had the most appealing smell to me) it had like a cotton candy note to it. I need to know where to get more of this.

She was amused by the Kenya green (I was surprised how a CTC green was actually drinkable), and the simao earrings. The earrings didn’t have much flavor though.

The Oriental Beauty was good, and a lot more silvery than the one I had before, but also a lot less fruit and more floral. I am going to try sipping on the other Oriental Beauty in the box that is pretty much all black and see what the differences are.

All in all the box is VERY overwhelming. There are 1000000 things to try, and not enough caffeine or fluid allotment in a week to try them all. I am going to try and send it to the next person on Friday (my day off). If they will PM me their address ^^

You could always pull out samples for later.

So glad you are enjoying the box. The awabancha is very unique. The scent is a little scary but just real interesting. If you would like a little more info on the processing of it, there is a little bit of info here: http://www.o-cha.net/english/japan/culture/culture03.html
