Trick-or-Tea Contest

Hello Steepsterites!!!

I am holding my first Steepster Contest in honor of Halloween!

What: I have a couple of teas that just aren’t for me and I thought it would be fun to have a contest and give them away. The teas are:

1) Tropical Punch Flavored Black Tea – Zoomdweebies – 2oz (minus 1 tsp)
2) Spearmint Flavored Black Tea – Zoomdweebies – 2oz (minus 1 tsp)
3) Grapefruit Flavored Black Tea – Zoomdweebies – 2oz (minus 1 tsp)
4) Decaf Tropics – Adagio – 1 sample tin (minus 1 tsp)

How: Post a comment on here saying your best ever Halloween costume and/or your favorite fall time tea. This will not have a bearing on your ability to win (the winner will be chosen via a random number generator), but I thought it would be fun :)

When: The winner will be chosen on Halloween (October 31st, 2010) of course!!!!!!

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. And HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

P.S. Sorry but you have to live in the Continental US to enter (I am on a college student budget).

WINNER: oOTeaOo

Most of my costumes have been not worth a mention (I almost wrote unmentionable, but that didn’t sound quite right), thus, I’ll mention my favorite fall teas instead: Harney & Sons Cranberry Autumn, and Culinary Teas Angel’s Dream with maple and berries. Thanks for letting us play!

Thanks for entering! Most of my costumes are pretty boring too – haha.

Lets see… About 5 yrs ago i was a “saloon girl” -black satin corset, skirt with crazy purple glittery train, and a purple feather on my head -interesting to say the least. :P And a fall tea? Sicillian Nights by San Francisco Herb and Natural Food Company.

That sounds like a really neat costume! Thanks for entering!!

My best costume was last year where I dressed up as a frog. I painted my entire face green and wore a frog hat and a green dress. My favorite fall time tea is any tea with apples or pumpkin such as Adagio’s Spiced Apple Chai.

A frog! I love it! That is such a creative idea. Thanks for entering!

My best halloween costume was when I dressed up as “Mimi” from the Drew Carey show. I got a big poofy blonde wig and over did my makeup and wore lots and lots of layers to look fuller figured. I had fun with it at the college parties.

So far my favorite fall teas are Pumpkin Pie by Art of Tea, Snickerdoodle from 52teas and African Autumn from Harney and Sons.

That does sound like a fun costume! Thanks for entering!

well, this year I’m going as Poison Ivy from Batman and spend a goodly amount of time sewing leaves onto a jumpsuit. In the past I’ve gone as a gypsy, V from V for Vendetta…and a lot of other things! Mermaids, angels, the like.

I also work for Partymart.com now, so I have access to loads of other costumes and it’s tempting to wear one of those! =P

Fall tea? Pumpkin Chai from David’s Tea! Love it as a latte!

Wow – sewing on leaves – that’s impresssive!!! Thanks for entering!

Personally, my best-ever costume was when I was Rainbow Bright in preschool. To this day, I think about how awesome it felt to be like Rainbow Bright and smile. Mom made that costume, too, so extra-special.

Favorite fall tea? I have to pick one? I like: Pumpkin Pie from Art of Tea, Pumpkin Ginger from Republic of Tea, and Chocolate Ginger Red from Republic of Tea (the last two I just got this past weekend, and they’re amazing!).

Rainbow Bright = awesome!

Caitlin said

Aww thats so cute! And I think I need to place a Republic of Tea order soon – they seem to have such great fall teas! Thanks for entering!

Caitlin, these two fall ones are World Market exclusives, but are well worth the trip if you have a bit of a drive! Thank you for hosting this!

Caitlin said

Darn, but its probably ultimately a positive for my wallet – haha

You’re probably right, there. I can’t go into that store without buying 5-7 new teas. So I only go about once every 3-4 months.

Well this year I’m going for a disturbing kind of costume, I got this broken doll mask and am using some monk robe costume from a local shop. Then I’m going to write “All the world is mad but me” on my arms in fake blood, maybe finger paint something on my throat in blood, and get either my girlfriend or a good friend to do a little makeup job to give me a diseased, desecrated look. I’m planning to have fun at the party this year with this one XD

As for favorite fall tea, I really like this Cinnamon Vanilla tea from Republic of Tea, but I’ve been trying to decide on a good pumpkin tea. I also have some chocolate chai coming from Frank, so I’m sure that will be good when the weather cools :)

That sounds intense – haha. Thanks for entering!

My best ever halloween costume would have to be when I was around 5 years old & dressed up as the pink power ranger LOL the costume was really hot since it was a jumpsuit type deal but it was cute aha. I loved power rangers when I was a kid =]

Favourite fall tea would have to be Boston tea company’s ‘Autumn Harvest’ its sooo delicious & the apple taste is super crisp!

Caitlin said

Aww thats cute. I loved power rangers when I was little too! Thanks for entering!

Last year I dressed up as the personficiation of “retro-futuristic” (what people in the 40s-60s thought the future would be like). I made a retro style dress entirely out of silver lame, did my hair in big 40’s style victory rolls, and pinned stars in my hair. I had a prop laser gun.

My favourite fall tea right now is David’s Tea Pumpkin Chai. My boyfriend got the very last that they had in stock at my local store and gave it to me for our anniversary.

That sounds so unique! I had to do a little search on the style, is this similar to what you are talking about? http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/uu290/leyandrea13/Picture3-1.png

Caitlin said

That’s sounds like an awesome costume! Thanks for entering!

Amandajo – nothing so complicated as that. :P I just took a pattern similar to this http://www.simplicity.com/p-2025-misses-dresses.aspx and altered it a bit.
