Air freighted tea

Hello! This might be a very simple question, but why is tea marked “air freighted” or “airplane” more expensive? Is it supposed to be “fresher”?

Shipping speed, basically first class or economy.

I didn’t mean in a website as a shipping method. I have seen in some tea shops packages saying “airplane” or “air freighted” versions of the same tea for example: Darjeeling Nr9 First Flush Himalaya FGOP and then there’s the same but more expensive “airplane”

It sounds like they had some shipped fast and the rest on the slow boat. Faster shipping is more expensive, but that’s a business expense that they should be covering, not pushing onto a customer. There’s absolutely no quality difference between the two.

If I ever find this again, I’ll ask for an explanation to see what their arguments are. Thanks!
