Lid for cast iron teapot: where to find replacement

I recently acquired a cast iron teapot that is missing its lid. It is a blue koi teapot that I believe World Market once sold. Does anyone know where I might be able to find a lid that will work with the teapot? World Market customer service told me they don’t have replacements for such items. Link to an image of the same model and a link to a similar teapot from World Market below:

I think you’re just out of luck on this. The original teapot is mass produced, $25. Even if you could find a replacement lid, the cost would be half or more or the tetsubin’s original cost. You might be able to find something to substitute or use a piece of wood. If you have a potholder glove, you can do without the lid.

Yeah, I’m not necessarily trying to find anything that matches, just fits, preferably cast iron or ceramic. But improvising with a piece of wood or something might be the way to go.

Sailor Todd – I know you posted 2 years ago. Did you ever find your lid?? I recently acquired the same blue teapot you posted the picture of that was also missing the lid at a local goodwill store. Guess what – I found the company and they shipped me a free replacement lid. Google – Old Dutch International – find the link that is specific to teapots and select – Contact us. These folks were friendly and shipped one to my home within 3 days.
