The Tea Journal!

This year I took it upon myself to try at least 500 different teas and I actually accomplished that goal quicker than I thought; I joined Steepster in March and only about 30 of the teas I reviewed at first were previously drank.
Anyways, my best friend gave me a journal as a gift and I decided to use as a tea journal. I have seen how some people collect bottle caps or post cards which made me decide to collect the labels from teas and put them into my tea journal.

Currently I have pages dedicated to companies, but I haven’t got around to decorating them :/
It’s quite a bit of work to go through if you don’t do it a singe tea package at a time. I had half a trash bag of cut tea packages :p
Here’s the random ones I haven’t got to.

Currently I’m working on putting the labels on the pages for now and then later I will doodle, paint, and put random other things in there.

The pages are kind of bare for now:

The first company I bought online from (Anna Marie’s) http://postimg.org/image/ckz9lsa4h/

The two companies I took with me to Tokyo; Whispering Pines and Verdant: http://postimg.org/image/3yw016y4h/

The YUNOMI group buy :)

The page I will never get to complete :(

and then my current favorite company, Beautiful Taiwan Tea : http://postimg.org/image/xpj4myj41/ (this one is going to fill up easily, soon)

Does anyone else do anything similar? I would love to see what you’ve got!

Does anyone own tea stained paper that is at least 10+ years old? I might start staining some of the paper if it would last.

Lastly, does anyone have a suggestion for how to journal my pu’erh cakes? The wraps are pretty large on them and a fold out would be super thick in this.

I am not intending it to look all pretty, I am just going to slap the stuff down and let it look the way it does over time. Hopefully it looks like the product of tea drunkard :p

For the wrappers maybe see if they can bound together as pages in a separate book or take photos with a good camera and have the photos made into a book. Be pretty tough to keep them all in your journal and I’d be afraid of them deteriorating over time.

Probably even more than I am a tea addict I am obsessed with journals/stationery/pens etc. and journal pretty much everything. So I have multiple tea journals! A (n almost) daily log of what I’m drinking with pictures and small Field Notes with parameters and tasting notes that I organize so I can look back for a specific teas. Doing one based by company sounds like a really nice idea though…maybe I need to make another one.

I’ve never tea stained plain paper, but I do tea stain cyanotype prints (which are on watercolor paper). They last perfectly fine, but I soak them in Borax or Ammonia before tea toning so I have no idea whether or not that helps.

For pu-erh, can you cut the wrapper to size and decoupage?
