The way the pre-order works is that you select the tea types you want in your Tea Club Box now but you don’t pay for anything until we are 100% sure that we have the “critical mass” we need to make these clubs amazing.
You can go to www.SimpleLooseLeaf.com and pre-order up to three tea clubs. We will be adding additional tea club types in the future, assuming we blow this out of the water like we expect, but for the moment we are just offering the 3x tea format as a max number of teas.

Wouldn’t Earl Grey be considered a flavored black? Are there other flavored/blended teas as well?

Great question. I will sorta break it down into the different questions and answer them one at a time.
1. Is Earl Grey a flavored tea? Yes it is but it is also one of the most “classic” teas you’ll find. Because of that we include it as a traditional black tea and not strictly a flavored tea.
2. There will be in the future. Ideally we would like to introduce 3 more club categories over the next few months. Flavored Black Teas, Flavored Green Teas, and an Oolong/Pu’er Tea category.
We haven’t introduced more categories because for the moment we want to keep things as simple as possible while still have enough of a selection for tea drinkers to build a unique tea subscription for themselves.

What about oolongs and pu’er? I’ve been with you guys for awhile and the monthly boxes often have oolong and occasional ripe pu’er.

We have decided that to begin with we are going to stick with the 4 categories listed, but as we grow we will be able to support the addition of more tea categories.
One of the flaws with our earlier custom format was that it was very hard to make sure every one had the right teas shipped to them. That was due largely to having so many options that could be chosen from. With enough size we can handle that level of complexity with relative ease but we have to make sure we attain that size and then add more options.
We are hopping that we will be able to add 3 more categories in a few months: Flavored Black Tea, Flavored Green Tea, and an Oolong/Pu’er category.
