Need a good Shu recommendation please...

Im about to order from YS with a friend and am getting some Sheng that I already know that I like. I want to get a good Shu as well in the order. Can someone recommend me a really good Shu from YS or even W2T? I know people have different tastes, but I can take your suggestions and research them to see what I might like.

+1. I also am a fan of the Hui Run series.

Yunnan Sourcing has just announced a 2015 Hui Run but it is not on the website yet.

Does it have to be YS or W2T? My first shu recommendation is always Song of Tse Chi.

That is an excellent tea. Yunnan Sourcing sells that too but they call it something else.

The Yunna Sourcing version of the 2008 Song of Chi Tse is this tea if I am correct. I believe the wrappers to be identical. That being said I have not ordered it from Yunnan Sourcing but it should be identical except for the storage and the name.

Ooh, nice. Less expensive at YS. I’ll have to see if I can taste tthe difference in storage.

By the time you add on shipping charges at Yunnan Sourcing it’s not really cheaper any more. Berylleb includes the shipping in their price.

it’s sold out on Yunnan Sourcing :(

From YS I recommend the 2002 Gu Fo aged and the 2010 Hai Lang Hao “As You Like.”

If you wait a few years, I believe Whispering Pines is going to be having a very rare ripe that will be cooked over Mount Doom.
It’s going to be the one tea cake that I refer to as ‘my precious’, but mainly because it will be made from a 50/50 mixture of wild tea tree from the mountain areas of Gondor and Morodor (only a few trees even in existence and kept a secret for a long time); which is commonly known to be a vary dangerous place to be caught picking herb.

Ummm, one does not simply walk into Mordor… :/

But if one is a tea hobbit…

I’d suggest Mandala Tea’s Noble Mark. Temple Stairs is good too.

For YS, 2010 Hai Lang Hao As you like +1. 2010 Haiwan Peerless Ripe (edit, sold out boooo).

From White2Tea the new 2006 Gongting is a light shou. I have also been repeatedly suggested to try the 2006 Little Gold Melon (I own it, but haven’t tried it yet, oh what else is new with me and my tea stash).

If it counts, White2Tea 2014 Lao Cha Tou nuggets. Or get the Mandala Tea nuggets (they have 2 different ones).

W2T LCT nuggets ftw.

I like Mandala Tea’s Phatty Cake II.

I also recommend Mandala. Plus one for Temple Stairs, Noble Mark, and Phatty Cake II. Too bad Special Dark is no longer existing…
