How long will the quality last?

I’m sure this has been asked before, but I was wonder how long you can expect the quality of green teas to last when they are transferred to air tight tins? It seems like I have read over a year, one year and as short as two months…. Can anyone share personal experience or tips ?

Well, it really depends upon how old the teas are to begin with… that is, how long your vendor had the tea on their shelf before it was sold to you. It also depends upon the type of tea and the cut. A whole leaf should last you 18 months if stored properly, the smaller the cut (or broken) leaf, the less time it will last.

A good tea vendor will know the age of their teas on their shelves and will be able to tell you how long the tea will last.
