Well, I ran out of white sugar this evening.
I made a cup of green tea with peaches. Just basically cut up a peach and tossed it in.
The final cup had a beautiful yellow colour.
However, when I tossed in the brown sugar, the colour changed to brown.
This is something that a coffee drinker would never notice.
I now have more respect for that beautiful white crystal.
We have kind of been taught to treat brown sugar as if it’s more natural or healthy.
Anyways, one can imagine historically the need for white sugar to go with tea.
