I have received the vahdam teas order, so from this weekend I’ll review each one of the 4 assams and breakfast I ordered.

I’ll keep you updated.

Don’t forget either, Stockman, that if you want a strong brew, increase the quantity of leaf you use. You can add water, if you need to get it just right after brewing.

You want to keep the brewing time at 3 minutes. This will allow you to get two steeps out of the looseleaf.

If you’re using bags, you can put in 2 bags should you need to.

And this goes for any tea. I just finished off two different Ceylons this way, and got quite a robust breakfast drink. If you have a little electronic scale you can quickly adjust exactly how much tea you are using.

Stockman, I tried the Canadian version of Twinings English Breakfast in the red can. Just wrote a review. Label says Ceylon and Indian.

I’d skip it.

I love Irish Breakfast tea, but if you like a malty or cocoa flavor, black dragon pearls are great. You can get a small sample at Adagio to see if you like.

I’ve finally found the Taylors of Harrogate Yorkshire at an affordable price in Amazon.es (5€ for 80 bags).

But, still can’t find the Twinings English version… Just from UK sellers (and shipping costs are quite expensive) or from Twinings (but I would have to buy a large quantity in order to amortize shiping and I can’t risk to that (student budget)).

It might not be ideal according to your original post but the wild arbor assamicas from YS are good. I like them because I can drink without milk but still have that english breakfast taste.

I brew them like a second flush darjeeling, so they have that body but not so muscatel & wood, its all malt & honey. Im pretty sure you can brew them stronger, but they are higher grade leaf, not bop so ymmv, I havent tried yet. But my mates like them without milk, so they arent too far away from home.

They are as close to an english breakfast tea I have been for.. omg. Cant remember. 5 years?
