Nylon teabags - controversial?

Use paper ones, preferably the ones that don’t have staples. They can be composted or ground up in a sink garbage disposal instead of ending up in a landfill. Tea and tea bags just seem like one of those easy low-hanging fruit situations when it comes to producing a product that is eco-friendly. I think companies that choose excessive packaging or use plastic for the tea bags just aren’t even trying.

I find PG Tips packaging to be a model for an excellent eco-friendly product. Aside from the thin plastic wrap on the outside of the box, everything else within is compostable/biodegradable. It’s Rainforest Alliance certified too, if that means anything.
