Christmas teas

SuperAnna likes to get a special Christmas tea to serve after Thanksgiving dinner. We have had Dammann Freres, Mariage Freres, and Nina’s Fete de Versailles. We also have had Harney’s full Christmas line and Gurman’s. What are some favorite Christmas blends, preferably not a super typical black-tea-with-orange-cinnamon-and-clove?

This is not a Christmas blend specifically, but felt comforting and celebratory on Christmas Day last year: Laoshan Chocolate Genmaicha. It’s now made by Liquid Proust Teas on Etsy.

Stash’s Christmas Eve (herbal tisane) has spearmint, orange zest, cloves, cinnamon, and vanilla.

As for actually flavoured teas, I like Silk Road’s Cosmic consciousness (gingery spicy herbal chai), Cardamom French Toast (David’s Teas), and Cha Yen Thai (Teavana).

We buy an unholy amount of Stash White Christmas and have tried several of their other Christmas blends. We are trying to find something we haven’t had before, but those are great choices!

Dammann Freres have such lovely Christmas teas! Aside from their truly excellent black Christmas tea, I really enjoy their NOËL À SAINT-PETERSBOURG, NOËL À PARIS, NOËL À VIENNE, NOËL À LONDRES, and NOËL À PRAGUE. They have a few others representing various cities which are also worth checking out as well!

I have had two of those but had forgotten there were more. That may be the way to go!

Not to annoyingly self-promote, but I have a couple Christmas/winter teas that are a little out of the box (and I’m pretty fond of) :)

Lupicia has a tea called “White Christmas.” It’s like their Cookie tea on steroids. I drink it throughout the holidays and stock up while it’s available since it’s only offered seasonally. Really yummy!

Lupicia also makes a delicious seasonal tea called Carol, which is a strawberry vanilla black tea available in regular and decaf versions. I just checked the site though and holiday teas are not up yet.

I was checking a few sites and it seems that many of them don’t have the Christmas teas up yet. Should be soon, though!

She has decided to surprise us with one of the “Noel á …” teas from Dammann Freres! We will know which one on Thanksgiving Day!
