Steepster Removing Teas from Cupboard?

I was on here last week and I had 21 teas in my cupboard. Now I only have 17. Is steepster removing teas from my cupboard?

Maybe they were duplicate listings? I have come across a few of those, where the wording of the tea was only slightly different, but it was still the same tea. I would check to see if the ones you are missing from your cupboard are still on here.

Hmm…I definitely have 5 to 10 less teas in my cupboard as well, though without comparing to my physical tea cupboard I won’t know which went the way of the wind.

Weird, that’s the first I’ve heard of that…were any of them a “David’s Tea” by chance?

Probably, since the bulk of my teas are David’s, which does have a lot of duplicates. I tried to pick whichever one had the most ratings, so as to clump them up though.

Aha, ALL of them are Davids…

Ah, yes. Just over the weekend I merged a lot of teas because there was a “David’s Tea” company and a “DavidsTea” company. So, when the teas were merged, it probably removed the “loser” of the merge from people’s cupboards/shopping lists. Unfortunately, we don’t have any good way to get those back other than you just adding them again :(. Sorry for the inconvenience, it’s not a situation we had anticipated. On the bright side, the DAVIDsTEA teas are all labeled correctly and there are no duplicates :)

Not to be a jerk, but the drop down menu still has three listings for David’s Detox tea.. (For example, I’m sure there are others with similar duplications)

There’s Detox, Organic Detox and Detox (Organic). They do all have consistant company names though!!

Maybe I’ll go through my physical cupboard and update everything later on.

Ah, good catch. I’ve merged them all into 1 here:

That’s actually an unrelated issue. The teas from the old “David’s Tea” shouldn’t have duplicates, but there could have already been some in DAVIDsTEA. If you find any others, just shoot them to me in an email ([email protected]) and I’ll merge them.

Hi Jason, I was searching the discussion board to figure out how to troubleshoot duplicate teas that we spot and this thread is the closest I found… so FYI :) found another David’s Tea with 3 entries: organic cocoa canela (a second one omits ‘organic’ from the name and the third one has an extra l in canela.
Thanks for all your work in keeping steepster going strong!

Hi Jude, thanks for pointing those out. I moved them over to the correct DAVIDsTea and deleted the company name that was incorrect. In the future you can just send me an email with links (jason at steepster.com). Thanks!

yea…we gotta add that to the guidelines: to check first before adding a tea or tea company. if we haven’t already :)
