Taiwanese Wild Mountain Black Re-launch!

Just a heads up :-)

NOTE: THIS TEA WILL GO FAST, BUT I HAVE MORE ON THE WAY, SO PLEASE DON’T WORRY IF YOU MISS IT!

Yes, this tea is a phoenix…a legendary black tea that left the market along with the company that used to sell it. Due to the many requests I had to find a tea similar to it, I made it my top priority to not just find a suitable replacement, but to seek out the original source. Nearly two years later, here we are: re-launching TWMB.

For those of you that are familiar with TWMB, this is the same tea, but of course a different harvest. You will be comforted once again by the magical experience that you miss. For the rest of you…

Imagine, if you will, taking fig newtons and drizzling them with melted cinnamon-butter and dark brown sugar, then putting them between two thin slices of sourdough toast and eating that. That’s essentially the flavor profile of TWMB. The rich honey-sweetness comes from leafhoppers — tiny little insects that bite the leaves, making the tea plant send healing sugars to the tips of the leaves. This tea is harvested in the summer months from wild growing mountain tea plants.

The aroma is absolutely incredible, with notes of dark dried fruit, toast, and honey, and the flavor is incredibly sweet and complex. Truly a magical tea!

Is it malty?

I get a tiny hint of malt, but this is all about honey and fruit! :-)

Sounds right up my street :)

Any other winter harvest teas coming in?

There may be a couple, but I have no guarantee or ETA on them. :-)

So this is from the very same farm as the original TWMB from B…Teas? (Not sure if you were purposely avoiding using that companies name haha)

Hehe, yes to all of that ;-)

Aww yay! Thank you! If you wouldn’t mind writing a tasting note on it, I would love to hear what you thought about this harvest :))

Will do. Just as soon as I get through a cup without greedily gulping it. :)

Hehe, thanks so much! I just listed it on here.

I’m so happy that it’s making people happy! :D I searched REALLY hard for this tea :)
