Cups of tea /day

I typically take a thermos of warm tea that holds 400ml (just barely under 16 oz or 2 cups) to work in the morning. By my lunch break I’ve drunk through that and I don’t usually have the time to waste on my lunch break to brew another pot of tea, so then I switch out with iced tea I have in my fridge, and take a water bottle of iced tea to finish out the day. I think my water bottle I usually take holds 500ml (16 oz/2 cups) though I have an alternate water bottle that can /almost/ fit a whole quart in it if I sip it down a bit filling it, and if I don’t have time to make warm tea in the morning, then I’ll do that and just have the bigger iced tea water bottle filled with a quart for the whole day. In the evening after work I switch to a warm pot of herbal tea, and usually go through another 500ml/16oz/2 cups then, though sometimes I’ll double up and do another round depending on the hour. So on average I guess I’m drinking a quart and a half to two quarts of tea each day, and it’s a mixture of both warm and iced tea, and that’s about the same mix of warm and iced all seasons.

I average 4 12oz cups of tea at work. We have a dedicated Mr. Coffee that’s only for hot water. At home, I’ll usually drink 1-2L of other teas. Usually all hot, but during the summer I do a lot of cold brews. It’s too hot/humid for much hot tea.

During the week I’ll have a pot (500 mL) of green/white/yellow tea each day in the late morning. Maybe once a week I’ll do an afternoon gong fu session; the amount varies there, of course. I’ve started experimenting with iced tea, either cold brewed or excess from a gong fu session (cooled down and stored in the refrigerator). I haven’t been doing that long enough to know what a normal amount is.

The weekends will depend on what else I’m doing. Mornings often include some bowl tea. I usually get in at least one gong fu session.

Evening or late afternoon herbal tisanes occasionally happen, but there’s no pattern.

Adding that up I might estimate I take in 5 to 7 L of tea per week, so maybe 3 to 4 (US) cups per day.

I take a 10oz/300ml tea thermos in the morning to work. At work, I have a small teapot that I use to “semi-gongfu” brew another 800ml of tea. If I have tea in the evening, I’ll have 300ml or so of a tisane or low caffeine tea so 1.4 L in total in a day.

My intake varies widely. On this past Sunday, I drank 6 12 oz. travel mugs of tea. Some days I have none. I’d say on average I drink about 4 full 8oz cups of tea per day, plus a similar number of resteeps (half volume).

I have 2-3 cups of tea a day. In the morning and evening especially. I preferred milk tea most of the time.
