Starting a Posting Giveaway (or Restarting the Posting Giveaway!)

Hello Everyone!

A few months ago, I was doing a monthly giveaway open to everyone who posted tasting notes on our teas. Here’s how the giveaway works:

Post a tasting note of a 52Teas tea: The tasting note needs to be of a tea that was crafted/released since Amethyst and I took over in June of 2015. Reblends are eligible, so long as we reblended it.

The tasting note does not have to be positive. We appreciate reading all feedback, including the negative, because it helps us grow and develop as a tea company. Of course, we are much happier when we see glowing reviews however, if you are disappointed in a tea, we appreciate reading about it. All tasting notes are eligible for this giveaway so long as they’re one of our teas that we crafted/released since our takeover.

Every tasting note counts as an additional entry into the giveaway and we’re counting all tasting notes posted here to Steepster as of January 1. (That means you could already be entered to win!) On February 1, we’ll draw the winner at random and the winner will receive February’s subscription box! This giveaway is open to everyone – including Canadian and International tea drinkers! If you’re already a subscriber, you’ll receive a $20 credit on our website in lieu of the subscription box!

So make sure that we can SEE your tasting notes – if you haven’t ‘followed’ us yet here on Steepster, please do! When we see that someone has followed us, we follow back – and that will ensure that we see your tasting note. If we aren’t following you – we aren’t seeing your tasting note. If for some reason, you’re following us but we haven’t followed back, please call our attention to that by posting below and we’ll make sure we follow you!
Any Questions? Please feel free to post them below!

Does this count only for our first tasting note of that tea? Ie if I have already reviewed it in the past, would second notes count?
Also, is there a minimum word count? Sometimes I post a brief one liner just to say something goes well/badly with xx addition or brewing technique. and relevance? Other times I have posted only one line about the tea and the rest of my note is about other things, tea or just life related. I don’t think it would be fair for notes where I’ve put very little effort in to have equal weighting. That said, determining whether each note qualifies for the contest would be rather time consuming, but I just thought I’d throw it out there as food (or tea?) for thought. You could also run the draw and draw again if the review you end up choosing doesn’t meet the contest criteria. and now I’m wondering if that random tea picker website that was going around a few years ago is still up and running. I can’t recall the name of it!
Thanks for including us international Canucks :D

This counts for first tasting notes as well as those that follow for the same tea – so long as it isn’t the same review/tasting note regurgitated (ie: copied/pasted or changed up just slightly). As long as it’s an original review, multiple reviews of the same tea are acceptable.

As far as the content on the tasting note – as long as you’re saying something more than: “this is good” or “yuck” – please tell me a little bit about what you like or dislike about it because that’s really the reason behind this contest – we want to learn about what people are liking and/or not liking about teas. Even if it’s just a personal reason like “I just don’t like smoky teas” that’s better than saying “I hate this.” We can’t do anything about a personal reason behind liking or not liking something but that’s important for us to know too because we can improve upon some things but others we cannot.

This is about us trying to deliver the best teas we possibly can. :)

All that said, we aren’t going to be too stringent on content. As long as there’s a reason more than “good” or “not good” the tasting note is most likely in the running.

I don’t remember the name of the random tea picker website – I do remember utilizing it at least once or twice though!

I’m very happy to include the Canadians and other international countries whenever we can. I appreciate all our customers!

Thank you giving away tea just for trying to improve your teas and listening to the customers. 52Teas is awesome. :D

Echoing tea-sipper’s sentiment – I wish more companies cared as much about their product and customers as you do.

Perfect! thanks. I appreciate the clarity :D

Congratulations to the winner of February’s box – Shae! Please keep posting – a new month is upon us and all it takes to enter the giveaway is to write a tasting note about our teas, keeping in mind that the purpose of this giveaway is to get input on our blends so we’d appreciate the constructive criticism – both positive and negative – so that we can make our blends the best they can be.

In order to ensure that your tasting note is seen by me and therefore an entry is put into the drawing for you – please be sure to follow @52Teas – when I see the notification that you’re following me, I’ll follow you back.

Thanks to Shae and everyone else who participated! We appreciate you!
