holy balls.
slightly below $3500 (and will probably be $4K after Black Friday).

A lot of bulk purchases (some of which I slightly regret but not THAT much).
A lot of teaware (storage canisters, clay teapots).
And more recently, a fuck ton of pu erh samples.

Dang :P Looking forward to White2Tea Black Friday sale, but I swear I’ll stop after that!

It’ll be fun watching everyone’s numbers blow up in the aftermath of Black Friday/Cyber Monday…

(We’ll cry together, guys! It’ll be ok!)

I am starting to tear up already. Not disclosing the earlier purchases.

For the first time in years I didn’t buy tea on Black Friday (of course I broke through my annual Budget in July). I really need to drink up the tea I’ve already bought.

I had to get a gongfu set for a class I’m taking, so my expenses have nearly doubled in one purchase (from Umiteasets.com)
Yixing set: 24.25 (it was on sale)
Tea utensil set: 11.01
Bamboo tea holder: 7.06
Ruyao cup: 1.20 (also on sale)
Longquan Celadon fish cup: 1.20 (“”)
Egg Tea pet: 3.52
Tea samples: 0.00
Shipping: 16.00 (ouch)

My set of utensils was not in there, and in light of the fact that I need them for next week, I went ahead and ordered another set on amazon prime for 15.00. I may end up with two sets. We’ll see, I guess.

I also bought some tea on sale at Teavana because they had a coupon. That was ~30.00.
So, 15+64.24+30=124.24. In total this year, 211.74.

This feels like a lot to spend on non-necessities for me, but when I look at this thread, I suddenly feel very frugal, hahaha.

I think I spent $52 on my last order, and regularly spend about $6 at the grocery store when yogi teas go on sale so… Probably close to $300. I also bought a tea set so maybe more than that.

Spent $195 on my last. Early Christmas present for me.

Time to fess up. My goal for this year was $1,000 and I was doing really well until Liquid Proust put together two big group buys that totally busted my budget. The thing is they were just too good to pass up. Anyway, I wound up spending slightly over $1,600, mostly on puerh.

Next year I absolutely have to be better as my pumidors (yes that’s right: I now have two) are getting full. The problem is, I’ve been fantasizing about YQH, which isn’t cheap, but will definitely be in 2018.

I’ve got to take it easy this year and I want to keep it under $75/month. I’m good on teaware for now, so I don’t have to consider that in my budget (might sell some, actually!).

Unless I blow through all of my green tea (unlikely, though I expect I’ll make a big dent since I take it to work every day), I am expecting to spend $0 in 2018. That’s because I have replenished the herbal/fruit blend stock in 2017 and it was really the only category that was lacking in my pantry. I think that was about a $1K endeavor.

WOW some of you guys SERIOUS. I thought I spent a pretty lot on tea, but thinking back on 2017 I have ordered a few pounds of Positively Teas Assam ( may daily basic tea), fro Tea Trekker four times averaging $80.00 for top shelf green teas and some exotic Assams, from Steven Smith twice, about $60 each time, for his lovely Portlnad Breakfast and some tins for gifts, from Vahdam a couple of times, awesome tea but they never seem to have the same thing twice, and I visited Harney’s in Millertown NY and dropped $100, his teas are really like grocery store quality though.

I just got obsessive about tea over the past year. I don’t know how much I’ve spent total between DavidsTea and Murchie’s, but I know that it’s at least $1500. I will be diligent about keeping my receipts and reporting my tea expenses in 2018 since I’ll need to factor it into the budget at this point.
