Mandala Tea can send you tea!

Hey groovy guys, groovy gals!

Just a note to let you know that even though the website is down, we can still get tea to you. While we have been focusing on the wholesale and local retail biz, we’ve been getting emails from all kinds of customers, setting up orders, sending Paypal invoices and then shipping tea all over this land. Let me know if I can help you. I’ve got a list of available teas/prices I can email to you, if interested. Shoot me an email at [email protected] and I’ll take care of you. It’s been fun having these more personal interactions with customers.

And of course, we’ve got loads of our Milk Oolong ready to ship. It’s been our number one selling tea for several years running now!

With gratitude,
Garret

Have you got any new ripe puerhs?

Garret said

Allan… the only 2 new ripe teas right now are loose leaf teas. Sweet and mild, the both of them. 2015 and 2016 spring-picked, they are the lighter side of the dark side. Nice teas, zero post-fermentation funk, small leaf. I’ve been blending it with the Noble Mark or the Rama Lama Bu Lang loose and really loving it! As far as cakes and such, I am waiting to see what spring brings this year.

Any amazing greens or whites? If someone else gets the list , is it okay to post it here? That way we won’t all be bugging you to see what you have.

yes please that would be nice.

GABA – The tightly rolled leaves are unique among our black teas – somewhat similar to an aged, well-oxidized oolong with more subtle floral notes. Honey and bakery or pastry flavors are abundant. 1oz/4oz $8/$29

$20

2012 “Heart of the Old Tree” 100gram cake – Smell thick caramel and sugar cane while a gentle breeze blows in hints of a distant campfire where the sweetness of burning birchwood is evident. But this tea is far from what we would call smoky. Get out your aroma cups and check this one for yourself.  In later infusions, we find wonderful floral notes lingering. The flavor is full on the tongue, a butteriness present while the salivary glands are treated to a subtle cleansing. Slightly vegetal, (sweeter if you are using lower water temps – we use boiling), almost no grassiness. Later steepings bring out a High Mountain Taiwanese oolong quality to the flavor.
$27

2014 Hu’s Valley – The taste of the Hu’s Valley Ancient Tree Tea has a very strong aroma of wild honey. Apricot, root vegetables, citrus and wildflowers are each represented here.

A very warming tea that gives wonderful energy and clean taste without any off-putting post fermentation flavors. Clean.
1oz/4oz $8/$28

Golden Tips 2015 – The lighter side of the dark side. Smooth, creamy, gentle.
1oz/4oz $7.50/$27

Golden Tips 2016 – The lighter side of the dark side. Smooth, creamy, gentle.
1oz/4oz $7/$24

2011 Old Tea Nugget brick 8.8 oz 2009 tea nugget, pressed in 2011. Rich and ready. Steeps again and again. Use full rolling boil!

Garret, my treasure – so glad to see you back! But where is the Black Beauty?

You all been hiding….

Hey Mr. Mo! I went back to work and the most I manage these days is posting a quick snap on Instagram. Plus, like Sarsy said – this place is dangerous and I can’t be buying tea at the moment. Y’all are a bad influence.

Well I am glad to see you both back!

Black Beauty 2017 arrived just this week! So fun to see 2017 teas arrive. Sorry about being MIA, I needed a break from running a website and a retail store. We are shooting to relaunch the site at the end of this month. For now, I’m still just doing email/phone orders and using Paypal invoices. I know… inconvenient, for sure in our culture that is used to fast and easy, but really, it’s been fun getting to know customers over the phone and through emails. I miss that when it’s just a name on an order sheet. So call or email anytime :)
Grateful,
Garret

HI! It’s all pretty good right now. Gratitude is the name of my game these days. Grateful to be healthy, grateful to feel increasing hope (even in light of all the politricks), grateful to be smiling more than not. Wishing the same for you all as well!

Hi Garret, I’ve just received my box of pu’er samples, as well as the extra samples, thanks! (The Gaba black smells divine.) Really want to dive in but I recall reading here or on a blog that pu’er needs to rest for a week after shipping for a fair tasting. That is my goal, to try a bunch of samples, educate myself, and figure out what I like. Should I wait a week before diving in?
