Integrating Tea and Lifestyle? How Does Tea Improve Your Life?

I know lots of people who are very knowledgeable in tea, but they all see themselves as ‘tea geeks’ – they approach tea in a very scientific, technical way.

To me though, similarly to the connoseurship that inspires the lifestyle associated with a passion for artisan wines, cheeses and olive oils, although I am highly passionate about finding the absolute best teas out there, my love for tea transcends far beyond the technicalities. For me, it is mainly the feeling that tea inspires in me.

To me tea is about lifestyle: it is a tool I use to make my life happier, richer and which inspires me to fulfill my dreams. I will go as far as to say that it helps me to add the elements of love, friendships, being taken care of, confidence, good health, travel, happiness and fulfilling my dreams of freedom and helping the world.

A lifestyle similar to what this Forbes article talks about: https://www.forbes.com/sites/megykarydes/2017/02/10/how-to-pair-cheese-with-tea-instead-of-wine/#71ad86828da9

I talk about this in my blogs and videos: https://www.eastcottandburgess.co.uk/single-post/2017/01/17/How-Tea-Made-Me-Happier

But I am just 1 person. What do you guys think about this – do you mainly drink tea for the flavour, or does it go deeper for you? And if it is the latter, what lifestyle does tea inspire in you? What is the ‘tea connoseur’ lifetyle for you?

I will start this discussion to better explain what I mean.

I use tea to recharge and restore, to connect with friends, to become more mindful and to meditate, I use it to inspire and enrich my travels (I always take a flask of tea with me even when going on a short walk – it makes me feel like Captain Scott with his tea on Britain’s voyage to the Antarctica!), to boost my confidence and health and to inspire me to see beauty and excellence in this world and thus to strive for excellence myself and to thus fulfill my dreams of freedom, travel and helping the world, as at the end of the day, thhat’s all that matters in life – our happiness and fulfillment.

Tea inspires my short-term activities, such as cooking beautiful things to pair with my tea, it reminds me of travel – when I drink it, I think back to all those beautiful tea gardens where my tea comes from, it sharpens my taste buds to reflect on my love for food.
