The Rules are relatively simple. I would encourage the people who haven’t done a box before to look at some of the old threads to see how it works.
1. Follow me and the people ahead and behind you on the list.
2. When you get the box, immediately PM the next person for their address and to make sure they will be available to receive the box.
3. Plan to keep the box about one week, two maximum.
4. Take as much tea as you want. Replace it with equal weight and equal quality. You don’t have to match type. You can take a bunch of sheng and replace it with oolong or whatever. However, if you have a good collection, it would be helpful if you try to keep the box balanced. If you don’t, that’s okay; the box is designed for people who want to dip their toes into the puerh ocean. Please try to add where you bought the tea. Don’t put more than about 1 oz of any one tea in the box. You don’t need a lot of variety; we get that by having a lot of people on the list. Adding only 2 or 3 new teas is OK as long as the weight is the same.
5. No flavored tea other than puerh. Flavored puerh is OK.
6. Ship the box priority mail. When it is sent, send the tracking number to the recipient and cc me via PM. Don’t use a single-rate box; it’s more expensive and the box can’t be re-used for regular priority mail.
7. Post to this thread when you ship the box. Provide a list of what you took and what you added. People like to track the contents, and this also helps enforce the “equal quality” provision.
8. Try to wrap the teas well. There’s been a lot of discussion about packing for TTBs elsewhere on Steepster, and the consensus is that thin baggies don’t seal well enough. Heavier gauge ziplock seems okay but the consensus is that foil is best.
9. There are separate large bags to separate shou from sheng from flavored puerh from non-puerh. Add an extra bag for anything that is really smoky or strong-smelling.

The box arrived today! And it met up with the Here’s Hoping Traveling Teabox at the post office! They’re now fast friends. ;)
Any word on where the box is? I will be out of pocket from 5/12 to 5/15…
Sensiblyscript still has the box as far as I know. Babble is also going to be unavailable so I’ve rearranged the order as follows:
Wendie, Ken, Oceanica, Elena-Z, Babble, and then back to me.
Based upon this schedule, I suspect it will be mid-to-late June before the box comes to you.
Yes, the box is still at my place and it’ll be ready to head out to Wendie this week—but, Wendie, you’re not following me (which is understandable because, originally, you weren’t directly in line after me) so I can’t PM you for your address. So if you could follow me and PM me your address that would be great :)
So the box had a great time with me and is on its way to Wendie. I’ll post my full list of removals and replacements soon. :)
