There is this tea house in Couer d’Alene, Idaho: http://www.gaiwanteahouse.com/

I think it looks cute but it is quite a distance from me and I’ve never made it up there, so I can’t say one way or the other whether it’s good.

I met the owner Matt! It was a great experience, and he was so nice!

That’s awesome! After I wrote this, I finally managed to get up there too. Didn’t meet Matt, but I had a coconut iced tea latte and curry, both delicious. I’ll definitely be going back!

The adventure has been a great success! I’ve met with some wonderful people! I was treated to a shincha ceremony in North Carolina at Black Mountain Dobra Tea House, and it was quite an experience. I am currently en route to New Orleans, Louisiana! This trip has certainty been memorable, and it has only just begun! Check me out on Instagram @haveteawilltravel if ya want some tea/teaware porn of the traveling.

The journey continues!

I am currently outside of the Badlands in South Dakota! I have met some great tea drinkers along the way. I was able to catch a glimpse of the midwest tea scene, and I was not disappointed. Shang Tea in Kansas City, MO was a wonderful experience. Shang treated me to a 2011 Fuding cake he pressed, some loose leaf 2008 white tea from his garden in Fuding, and a Dian Hong styled black tea he made in Fuding from his white tea plants. I left very tea drunk and with a smile. He was a great guy!

The agenda points to having some wonderful sessions in the badlands, meeting up with some peeps from South Dakota, to Yellowstone, to Washington. I will keep it updated as I can!
