Oolong Iced Tea
I have searched for other recipes to make a cup of iced tea, and I will use oolong tea instead of other black tea this time. While black tea is often preferred for iced tea, you might find that oolong tea is a better choice. Iced oolong tea is a refreshing, semi-sweet drink that is very easy to make. This Oolong Iced Tea recipe calls for a naturally sweet oolong, so you’ll only need to add a dab of honey for a perfectly sweet tea. Let me show you~
First,Pour the bubbling water over the tea leaves.
Second, Steep for 4-6 minutes and then remove the tea leaves.
Third, Add the honey and stir.
Finally, Pour the tea over ice.
That’s all, a cup of fresh oolong iced tea is a good choice for you at summer.
In summer, I would like to drink an iced sweet tea like the honey lemmon tea. You should have a try to it.
Iced lighter oolongs seem to work, maybe not so well with darker roasted Wuyi Yancha types (Da Hong Pao and such). There is plenty of potential for iced Dan Cong, it just seems a waste to use a better version of those for that. Cold brewing is one way to extract the flavor without picking up as much astringency, but for a lighter oolong—in a Taiwanese style, or Chinese Tie Kuan Yin—that’s typically not a factor anyway.
I know that this may be such a cold bubble will destroy the flavor of tea.
But I would like to try different ways to create news and I may find the more flavored drinks.
I’ve cold brewed Milky Oolong and the result is good, although not impressive.
A Thai Pouchong resulted in a delicious drink (10gr/l. cold water, 6 hours in the fridge). Floral and somehow citrusy.
Sencha (a chinese budget version) became nicely sweet without a hint of astringency (3 hours, 8g/l)
Other flavoured teas (herbals and fruits) I found that result in a more sour drink that should improve with the addition of any sweetener (sugar, honey)
