I ordered some Sencha grown and packaged in Kagoshima (very Southern tip of Japan). It was, however, mailed from a distributor in Fukushima prefecture, about 40 miles south of the infamous Daiichi reactor. The tea company does not do any independent radiation testing like Aiya and some other companies I’ve bought from. Should I be worried, or is radiation from the Fukushima disaster no longer a concern?

No, I wouldn’t be worried. Fukushima has a radiation detector (like an advertising sign) in the middle of town. Business has returned to normal in the area, including local farms.

Sencha is not “eaten” like matcha.

If there were significant radiation levels, customs would most likely pick up on it.
