First Flush Darjeeling 2017
I have been enjoying ff Darjeelings from a variety of online shops including Vahdam tea, Upton,Harney and Teabox
I am expecting a reorder of sample pkg from Vahdam Tea and Teabox

I have placed two orders with Vahdam and their tea is quite good. I need to refrain from placing a third however as their tea is not like puerh, it does have an expiration date.
Exactly. I’m forcing myself to work through the greens and darjeeling I already have before ordering any more. Not always easy to resist the temptation to place another order though.
I bought a sampler for the first flush (and one 100 g package). 2nd flush isn’t quite as time-critical, and it was on sale :)
As does Mariage Freres. They are expensive, they don’t offer sampler packs, they don’t offer free shipping, but their offering of Darjeeling teas is sublime. One interesting thing they do is they will release an assortment of FF Darjeelings during Spring, they will also hold back several FF Darjeelings, and release them late in the year. In 2016, I had to wait for a December release to purchase FF Darjeelings like Margaret’s Hope and Singbulli. My guess is they let them age. While the tea may lose some of the green aspects, it will also develop a slightly different character, and slightly more body. The more body may be due to later picks like DJ30, DJ40 compared to DJ1 and DJ2.
As well as new 2017 FF Darjeeling teas, they still offer FF teas picked in 2014.
