Updated: What Reblends Would You Like To See?

Hello Everyone!

Here’s an update on this thread that I wanted to post right up front so everyone can see it easily:

In Mid-July, I’ll be announcing the first reblend Trio for the FUNdraising effort. The first trio will be a blend of “other” teas. Here is a list of the teas that I’m considering for this trio:

Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish Black Tea
The Vanilla Marshmallow – this will be a merge between the French Vanilla Assam and the Marshmallow Assam – with a base of Assam, Assamica and Yunnan Gold.
Lime Jello Green Tea
Cranberry Crisp Soda Green Rooibos
Gingered Plum Green Tea
Peach Blackberry Crumble Black Tea
Coconut French Toast with Cardamom Maple Syrup Black Tea
Chocolate Eclair Black Tea

So please keep those votes coming – but please limit the voting to the above Eight Teas for the time being.

Votes as well as availability of ingredients came into play in determining which teas would make it on the list. Also, I did not include any of what I would consider “premium” bases here – while I do consider all the teas that I utilize to be premium or above average teas – the premium bases include white teas & Oolong teas – which I do plan on eventually including in this fundraiser at some point – but due to ingredient availability, now is not the time for those.

I do plan on doing a Genmaicha Trio at some point in the future, which is why none of the Genmaicha blends have been mentioned in this updated list.

The final three teas will be announced when the pre-sales are announced. As this is a fundraiser, the teas will be available in the Trios first – and after the initial sales have slowed, they may be offered as single units.

Thank you!!!

Greetings Everyone!

As our regular customers may have noticed – we have different labels than we did a few months ago! In fact, if you order a tea that was packaged before January and a tea that was packaged after January, you might notice that you have 2 teas – each with different labels.

The reason for this is that our label printer went Ka-put so as a quick-fix, we purchased a new desktop type office printer. You know, the kind that you’d use to print out documents? Yeah. That kind of printer. These printers are certainly useful to print out documents like resumes and even our monthly tea menus that we put in our subscription boxes, but they’re less handy to use as product label printers because the labels are not only less professional-looking but they also cost more than double the cost per label than the professional label printer would produce. So we’re getting a more expensive but less professional looking label.

We thought that the desktop model would be something of a temporary fix, but it looks like it’s going to take longer than we originally anticipated – so we need to do something to expedite the process because, quite frankly, we want those snazzy labels! We miss the look. We miss the speed of the printer! And we miss the lower overall cost.

So, we decided that we’d do a bit of a fundraiser. We’re not going to do this on Kickstarter because it takes a lot of time to get the funds from them once the Kickstarter campaign is over. So instead, we’re going to host the fundraiser on our website.

One of the things we’d like to offer as part of this fundraiser is 2 sets of three reblends each.

The first set would be a genmaicha blend because those seem to be very popular. Each set would have three of our most popular genmaicha blends – but not the Marshmallow Treat Genmaicha because it’s currently available as a D’s Tea here: http://52teas.com/ds-teas-our-permanent-collection/

The second set would be of ‘other’ tea bases – including black teas, green teas & tisane bases.

So my question for you is: What genmaicha blends would you like to see reblended? What other teas would you like to see reblended?

The teas with the highest number of ‘votes’ here and via other social media will be reblended as part of this fundraiser! So let us know what teas you want reblended!

Cranberry soda rooibos

Thank you for your input – When Doves Cry is unfortunately one that will most likely not be reblended due to the high cost of creating it. :(

Blast! it was so good! (but also, I totally, totally understand)

I agree – it remains one of my favorites that I’ve ever created. Unfortunately, those violets were more expensive than the tea base for just a small amount of violets – which is why I had to mark up the tea so high and I’m sure that the high markup is why it didn’t sell as quickly as I thought it might.

I might at some point make a similar tea that does not have the violets in it.

All these votes for French Vanilla Assam make me want to try it, but I’m partial to the Marshmallow Assam which I love and actually tried.

Peachy Keen!
S’mores Genmaicha
Coconut Banana Cream Pie Hojicha (but doesn’t need that base)
Stone Fruit White
Caramel Monkey Bread Rooibos
Black Silk Chocolate Milk Qu Hao
…. so many I could list…

and Peach Blackberry Crumble
Brandied Apricot Upside Down Cake

A question to all those who voted for the French Vanilla Assam – so I hope you’ll answer – do you prefer the French Vanilla Assam or the Amethyst’s Gold – which I released earlier this year and was kind of my answer to the French Vanilla Assam – but had a different base (Amethyst’s Gold had a base of Yunnan Gold, Fujian Black and an Assamica tea grown in the JingMai Mountains of China.)

ooooh hmmm…. that’s a tough one. I think i’d be delighted with either?

VariaTEA said

I haven’t tried either but they both sound awesome

Amethyst’s Gold sounds delicious — didn’t get to try it!

BOTH—-make both available! Yes, I know—-I am impossible.
