I’m doubting there are any sponsorship slots left, but if there happen to be, I’d definitely be in.

So the spots were filled but when I put the names into Excel, I included my own… so there is a spot (2, but someone asked here so maybe both are gone already?)

No worries. Sponsor or not, I’m definitely in! Loved participating in this year’s. :D

Count me in as well. Good opportunity to maybe lower my puerh tuition.

All but one sponsor packages mailed out! A few extra goodies if anyone is lurking… PM me.
With that being said, ran the math and the $50 cost will work. I was going to work on a surprise for the event but I have decided that I need to put a little less time into all of this and focus a bit more on some other things.

With all of the weekly questions about when the event will come up… I will go ahead and post the openings in November and ship out December 23rd to January 6th. Anyone who receives and drinks is cut off from the 2019 event though; not really, but it’ll be out of spirit and you’ll know!

HUGE thanks to everyone who did the sponsor slots people, they have allowed the cash flow that ended up helping me purchase twice the maocha for the W2T and CLT stuff that is exclusive for the event : )

Got my sponsor package today!! Woohoo! (We can still sign up for the regular Olympiad right? I want those goodies, too!)

edit what I meant by this is that there’s technically 1 or 2 more sponsor slots left, a few contacted me and I suppose my language wasn’t clear.

Well, I’m happy I was able to be a sponsor but am anxious to get a regular slot in nov. Especially if there’s more w2t and cl going in. It seems you have a lot of interest in the event!

Fyi, there is a “subscribe” button in the uper right (bell) that lets you get alerts without commenting.

There’s a group message… Did you delete it? I’ll send it to you tonight

The only group message I have says there will be a write up

Don’t see a group message either?

Sorry… hard to keep track of everything : (
Hopefully I just sent it to everyone.

Hello, I’m actually in Southwestern Ohio and I was able to “stumble” on your tea from Crimson Lotus where I purchased their new Black Lacquer Tea Table set and found out about the 2018 Sheng Olympiad. I bought one from you but have a question. So far I’ve tried the white2tea (have been buying some from them about 6 months now) four am sample (love it, still have one for later) but I’m unable to find out what the origin is for the sample marked 200X ‘A’ 29g. I know the note you put into the bag mentioned that you didn’t want to put a whole lot of information into the package but the listing from the original offering (which I probably should have just printed out) would help.

I have used some of it and brewed it in a gaiwan per my usual sheng “flash brew” style and it’s growing on me. There seems to be a strong early camphor taste which dissipates after about 4-5 steepings. Hadn’t really expected that not knowing the year etc. but I’m enjoying this one too! Keep up the great work and I may have to get more from you. It’s the first time I’ve done Etsy and it worked pretty well. I didn’t realize that you weren’t really all that far away in Columbus! Thanks and CHEERS! Keep drinking the good stuff…full leaf teas!

Let’s meet up sometime then!
Glad you found your way to the Olympiad, it has been a way for many people to communicate about the same stuff in regards to steeping or taste even into what the future holds for the tea.

So the 200X A was sent out as a learning experience with no information because what I want everyone to get from it at first is what HK storage can do to a raw puerh over time. Now there’s a lot to say about the different type of storage in HK as well as how each raw puerh will vary over time as well, but from my experience it holds up well as being a good introduction as well as clean enough to drink for the time frame on it while fitting the bill.

I plan to announce the details on it around Spring time so others can try it without having the regional area or actual year in mind as the focus isn’t on that aspect. Hopefully that makes sense.

If you come by I will blindly brew a 90s and 80s raw puerh for you so you can understand the depth that it cane provide, but it doesn’t mean much more than that because we all taste things differently. I’ve had private tastings in which people spit out some Yang Qing Hao and others couldn’t get enough : )

Cincinnati here. So when do we organize the great Ohio gong fu tea meet up? I’m sure many will come from far and wide ;)

How about the week after my final exam :p
Early March?

Man, if I could swing organizing the great Ohio gong fu tea meet up, I would totally do it. Unfortunately, my 2-year old limits my availability to travel, even just to Columbus. The current great Cincinnati gong fu meet up only has an attendance of one, lol! Good luck on those finals, though!
