What if you add ooloong into black tea?

Hi,
I am a black tea lover as well as a oolong lover. To enjoy the aroma of black tea and oolong, I add oolong into black tea. Guess what? The flavor of black tea is stronger than oolong, and I almost cann’t taste the oolong.

As we know that black tea has stronger flavor than oolong tea, may be you can add more oolong tea.

I would try some ‘2016 Gao Jia Shan “Ben Se Ju” Tian Jian Tea of Hunan’ from YS. It’s hei cha with oolong taste. Really good

Sounds strange but I’m curious about it.

What kinds of black tea you add with Oolong?

I have a lavender black tea from a local shop that I like to mix with my vanilla oolong, it is quite pleasant. The creaminess of the oolong plays really well with the smokiness of the black tea, at least in my opinion.
However, because the black tea is so overpowering I do add less of it, 1 heaping tsp of black tea to three of the oolong, I especially like this blend with cream!

This is the only time I have ever blended these two types of tea though, so if you find a good blend please tell us! I would love to try something new.

A few years back I tried that experiment. I had 2 tie guan yin teas, one black and one oolong and blended then. Both were from upton tea. In that particular case I remember the total being more than the sum of the parts. The oolong added a fresh snappy citric flavor to the black teas maltiness and notes of plum. I blended them 50/50.

that sounds really good! :D

I’m wondering what would happen if you unwrapped an OK raw puerh cake and packed in a box of loose leaf mildly smoky lapsang souchong and forgot about it till your sixtieth birthday. DAYUUUMN! I’m just gonna do it!!

Russian Caravan is Lapsang Souchong, Assam or Keenum and roasted oolong usually Wuyi, sometimes including ripe puerh, depending on the recipe.
