Hi there!
I’d suggest you to keep your leaves away from light (avoid open shelves if you can) and humidity (a tin or a small box that you can close would be fine, aluminium is preferable because non-transparent and odourless).
Very important is to store them in a cool ambient: far far away from your oven or your cooktop.

Have a nice day then and keep asking if you need any help :)

Get it. Thank you very much. There seems to be a lot to do to store tea leave. And I checked my package just now I found several airtight bags, I’ll use them to store my tea and put it into a tin.

I always store black loose leaf tea in a sealed caddy and place it in a dry place which is away from light.
I hope it can help you.

Yes, this is very useful, anyway, which kind of caddy is better?

Air contact seems to be the main factor. Even in a tin I’d store it in a bag inside the tin, preferably one designed for such storage, multi-layer or mylar type, but being inside a tin as well a baggie might work. Baggies / sandwich bags tend to be a lot more permeable than one would expect though. The rest about temperature and light contact relates to real issues, just not the main ones. Some type of well sealed glass jar should work too; the function is the thing, not the form. Black tea holds up well to months of storage, maybe even a year or two, under normal circumstances, but even just opening and closing a package lots of times would degrade the character of better tea due to mixing in new oxygen and moisture.

Yes,that seems to be the most effctive one to store tea leave.

Remember the three point: Waterproof, moisture-proof, avoid high temperature.

1.Tea must be kept free from oxygen 2.Tea must be kept free from heat 3.Tea must be kept away from light 4.Tea must be kept away from strong odors 5.Tea must be kept away from moisture
That 5 point, I think so.

To increase shelf life of the tea, ensure that when removing it from the freezer you either; Leave it to stand for long enough to naturally reach room temperature before opening so condensation doesn’t occur. Open, use and return within the airtight container to the fridge or freezer very quickly before too much condensation occurs.
