How about a regal themed box. Selected teas that have a royal lineage or other connection to kings, queens, princes and princesses. Along this same line, historic teas, those with a story, maybe some intrigue or other bit of juiciness.

This sounds really cool. I would love it if the box included a small USB drive (256MB? I dunno, whatever the smallest and cheapest one is these days) with PDFs of the history and stories (I’m not big on printed material). Brew a cuppa, load up its history/story in iBooks and curl up on the couch with my iPad. Mmm… heaven.

The cheapest I’ve seen is a flimsy $10 drive from the public library so that’s probably not feasable but maybe creating blop posts with that information is a good alternative. Getting the full story and facts on a tea really gives enjoying some emotional and intellectual meaning, for me at least.

When I think September… I think “Back to School.” Apple flavored teas, bold teas (perhaps Assam) to get you going, maybe a Crisp white tea for “new beginnings.”

something for long afternoon to keep you warm when days get shorter and colder, a choice of pu-erh and heicha might be interesting.

I’d like “Delicious Teas For The Mondays”. I don’t like Mondays, but I’d like some teas that could make my Mondays better.

I’d also like “Teas For The Apocalypse”. When the day comes I’d like a good cup to start off my Apocalypse right.

Apocalypse teas, awesome. It could be like your tea survival kit.

Teas for the Apocalypse would be awesome for October.

Hopefully the Apocalypse isn’t coming that soon…we’ll only have gotten in 3 months of Steepster Select before the end of the world!

Yeah I suppose that’s a pretty sad thought.

Yeah I hope not. I’ve got things to do! Always best to be prepared I guess, just in case…

Hmm… tea survival kit. For my TSK I’d have something with serious caffeine and a bold taste for right before you fight the zombies/demons/rival gangs. I’d add something with a good immunity boost to fend off apocalyptic diseases and help detox from harmful substances. And finally, something deliciously rewarding to end an apocalyptic day with and celebrate the fact that you didn’t die or become part of the zombie horde.

Teas that are “warming” for fall. Tie Kwan Yin, “heavier” oolongs, etc. would be great!

I wouldn’t mind seeing breakfast, lunch and dinner teas – a nice caffeinated one to wake you up (and go great with that bacon), another to keep you going through the day and digest some of that afternoon sandwich, and then maybe a more dessert-like after-dinner tea.

It’d also be interesting to get a “mystery” tea set, where the teas are labeled A, B and C, everyone tastes them and tries to guess what’s what, with an ultimate unveiling of the real names of each tea. Obviously, I suppose you’d have to watch out for people with allergies. But it would definitely get me to try something new, and judge it purely based on taste and not any preconceived ideas of what it might or should be like.

I like these ideas, especially the “breakfast/lunch/dinner” one!

Love, love, love the idea for anti-teatoller’s survival kit, @jstrohl!

Here are mine:

“It’s time to relax” box tea set- (oolong, green and maybe white)
“Let’s kick it up a notch” box tea set- some spicy teas
YING/YANG” box tea set- find two teas that are completely different but come together in a way. Maybe have the third tea be the one that ties them. Perhaps have the third tea as a mixer. This one would be the most fun, I think.

I’d love to see something like what jstohl suggested!

Something the wake up to, something for second breakfast, something for lunch, dinner and a midnight tea! haha, that said, what about teas that pair well with food? And then a little guide to what foods go best.

Janefan said

ohh, food & tea pairings are a great idea!
