Requesting Reviews - Golden Teahouse

Has anyone ever ordered anything from “Golden Teahouse” found at http://www.goldenteahouse.com/ ? The website looks professional, but I couldn’t find any information about on the web (other than its own website). I was expecting at least a few of its teas to be registered on Steepster, but there’s nothing. It looks like they have some premium tea and some cool teaware, specifically http://www.goldenteahouse.com/One-Touch-Tea-Maker-Gift-Set.htm , but there are NO REVIEWS. Anyone have any experience with this company?

I did a long time ago. I ordered a slice of their qian liang cha (1000 tael tea) log, which I don’t think they carry anymore. I haven’t tried their version of the “Piao I” in that gift set, but Piao I contraptions in general work ok as long as you treat them gently.

I have only found their website for comparing their Oolong’s Qi Lan (wuyi Qilan) to Jerry Ma’s Oolong Qi.

I find their leaf description and the processing to be similar with what is depicted in the sample bag. I am impressed by how the leaves unfold during brewing and return to their natural greenish color leaves. It is pretty.

Leaves are crunchy in texture from being roasted for some 20 hours; then we boil this in a cup or a pot and you have full blown leaves greenish in color, the flavor we end up with in the richness, full bodied roasted brew as it is being dissolved, removed from the leaves in the cup. What we drink is a cleansing process of sort for returning the leaves back to their somewhat natural state.

Perhaps, this makes sense only to me.

Today I added reviews on 3 teas I ordered from Golden Teahouse. I can say that their service was nice and kind, I am absolutely satisfied with how they handled my order (from Canada to Europe). As for the teas, I got one pleasant surprise (Yan Luo), one decent tea but not very special (Jasmine Pearls, non-premium) and one slight disappointment (Apricot Fuxilu). Overall, seems to be a nice seller with an OK selection.
