I like having shu pu erh, it calms me down in a different way than other tea. I also like having a old white tea boiled with some nice quality honey added in the evening time, soothes the throat.

I am a big fan of an infusion made with honey, grated ginger, and some lemon juice. I always drink it when I’m having a cold.

I like Turmeric Ginger by Rishi. Easy to make, not fussy, no caffeine, drink 5 cups and eat a bag of clementines and soup and you’ll feel much better the next day.

When I have a sore throat I drink peppermint tea with a ton of honey or I cut up ginger, lemons, and sometimes lemon grass and brew it together. I also add a ton of honey to it as well. Honey is good because it coats the throat and has anti bacterial properties. Coffee and teas with high caffeine levels can dehydrate you so you want to avoid those.

I don’t like the aftertaste of a lot of herbals, so lately I’ve been drinking bagged, decaf English breakfast with a ton of honey for my throat at night. I have a sleepy time-type loose leaf blend as well, but it seems to upset my stomach. Maybe it’s an association thing-I drank a lot more herbal teas as a kid, and I was sick on a near permanant basis. I have no idea why else chamomile, peppermint, etc would make me queasy-it should be the opposite, in fact.
