ANOTHER TEA COMPANY?!? Introducing Blends Tea - a Canadian company!

Hello everyone!

First off, I’d like to tell you all a little about myself. I am a university student located in Montreal and have always have the dream and passion to open up a store about something that has always been close to me. I think we can all guess that its tea :) I had the privilege to be able to take the past couple months off and make this a reality.

The website is http://www.blendstea.com and I’d love any feedback/criticism/questions/comments from you all. Obviously, it wouldn’t be fair for me to ask for this without providing you a little something-something in return. Feel free to use the coupon code “STEEPSTER_LOVE” on checkout for 15% discount on everything(and yes, this also stacks with the save 15% when you buy 2 pouches of the same tea). Thanks again!

I love that you’re Canadian…Best of luck in your tea venture! I know you don’t need any recommendations but I think that if it’s possible (IE: if you haven’t already bagged/sealed/tinned your inventory) that you offer samples for a nominal fee on your site. It seems to encourage people to try more varieties, and hopefully fall in love with more varieties, thus ordering more. For some, such as myself, it can be daunting to order 50 grams of a tea that I haven’t yet tried, in case I end up not being a fan. Again, best of luck!

Uniquity, thank you so much for your thoughts. I really appreciate it. Keep the recommendations coming! :) Funny you mention the sampler pack, the 2 biggests requests that I’ve had so far is for the addition of unflavored teas as well as sampler packs. I think I know what I need to do! ;) Thanks again!

I’m always happy to see another Canadian company out there. I just wanted to wish you good luck. I definitely agree a sampler pack would be much liked. And this is probably just me but on your website the um..header graphics of all your teas scrolls too fast so I can’t read the names of all the black teas before it has moved on to another image. I like to look at the tea and that makes me feel rushed. But then again, that’s just a minor personal quirk I have. Good luck again!

Thanks kanata for taking the time to reply! Ive had tons of requests for sampler packs and am currently working on getting them up as soon as possible! Ive also slowed down the header images so its not as fast anymore. Thanks again!

Well the website looks very professional, great job on the marketing!
As for the rest, I agree with all the points above. Also, I have some very specific preferences when it comes to my tea, mostly because of allergies. Once you get off the ground, I recommend varying up your tea ingredients— specifically, I am sensitive to Jasmine and Bergamot (which I didn’t see) but also Vanilla essence and coconut pieces, which were in most teas. Unfortunately, that procludes me from making any significant orders :(
That said, when your options expand I will definitely look into it!
oh and if you had some pure blends without any flavours I’d be up for that to! :)

Thank you very much for your insight Indigobloom, I will definitely keep that in mind. Im going to be updating all the teas with all allergen information. I’ll also be adding a bunch of new unflavored lines in the near future – ill be sure to let you know!

I think the thing I like the most, is the fact that your banner is both French and English. It made me grin, and really screams “Canadian”. In a good way.

Although the name itself made me pause, because there’s a Canadian coffee company called “Blenz”. But I’m going to put this on my “to try” list.

I see for your white teas, you list what types of white (and, in one, two green teas; Luxurious Lime: “Lung Ching, Chinese Sencha, Pau Mu Tan…”) are blended. Extending that to the green and black sections might be a good idea. I assume the black is all Sri Lanka (it usually is), but I’m always on the lookout for a good Vanilla black tea with a China base.

haha thanks AJ, Ill be soon adding a french version to the site as well. We are a bilingual country after all ;) Great input on adding the actual variety of tea, Ive had numerous requests for this and will be updating it ASAP!

Website looks lovely and professional. Blended teas for tea bag lovers would be a nice added touch.

Thanks alot for your input and your email yesterday, much appreciated!

You are very welcome. At times I like Canadians. I like folks in Montreal, they are very selective generally; as are tea folks. Keep on blending.

Very nice/professional site! Sad to say I too am allergic to coconut. Plus my taste is turning more to straight teas as I get more into the tea world. But I’d try some at some point. Congrats!
