Do you drink bottled tea?

No, I only drink real tea made from hot preferably boiling with a teabag in cup or loose leaf I am learning to appreciate.

I have tried bottled tea and too much sugar or that other thing not quite sugar but man made, I mean artificial sweetener. I might try Ito en teas as part of this research aspect.

I get the rare bottle of tea when I’m out and about. As far as bottles, I prefer glass but it’s not a must -what’s inside is my highest concern.

Most teas in bottles are too sweet or chemical tasting. I’d rather drink nothing, and do, when I find a bottle is like that. What’s wrong with letting tea taste like tea?

In terms of bottle design, you should take a look at Argo Tea’s RTD teas.

I’ve tried a few of them. The teas/tisanes are pretty good, all natural and whatnot. But the bottles are great. I’ve kept and reused mine after removing the label (which is easy because it’s a plastic wrap not sticky paper.

They are a solid-feeling glass (not too thin so as to feel flimsy or breakable) and skinny in the middle, which makes them easy to hold. The plastic top screws on very securely – you can turn it upside down without any liquid dribbling out. I wouldn’t guarantee it as airtight, but it’s pretty solid.

I’ve been using them as water bottles, cold brewing teas/tisanes in them, etc. They would probably work nicely as an impromptu flower vase too, since they are tall and slender.

I’ve put the jars (and lids!) through the dishwasher a few times too and they did fine. No idea what plastic the lid is made of or whether it is BPA-free, or recyclable though.

Wow, those are beautiful. That is the sort of thing that would definitely grab my attention…I love putting things to good use, so re-usable (read: glass) bottles are my preference.

Gorgeous! If bottled tea were more widely available in awesome bottles like that, I’d probably drink more of it.

I love Argo… they really introduced me to the wonderful world of tea! Incidentally, they are now selling their loose leaf in those same bottles. Not really the best for tea storage (if only they made the plastic wrapping opaque!), but it’s another option for acquiring bottles!

I personally can’t stand bottled teas, especially since discovering all the amazing different types of loose-leaf teas that are out there. The taste can’t even begin to compare.

For me to even be tempted to try a bottled tea, it would need to say something like, “A bottled tea for loose-leaf tea drinkers!” But obviously, better worded than that.

I’m turned off by the overuse of incorrect Chinese & Japanese lettering on tea bottles. I also hate when they claim to be “authentic tea.” They never are. But those just might be negative buzzwords to me. I can’t speak for all tea drinkers.

Real tea needs to be fresh. That’s why it’s so good. Bottled teas are overly processed and imbued with unnecessary (and usually bad for you) additives and preservatives. In all honesty, I don’t think it matters what the bottle looks like. The taste is what matters. It could have the best looking label ever, but if it tastes awful, I’m not going to buy it. As LiberTEAS said, bottled tea doesn’t taste like tea.

I do all the time! There are some good brands of unsweetened bottled tea. Notable: Tejava, Sokenbicha, Ito En. All tasty and they don’t contain sugar. I stay away from most of the sweetened teas.

I tend to find at most restaurants and cafes they tend to have their own freshly made iced tea, and you can get it unsweetened. I usually opt for that as a healthy option.

I don’t drink bottled teas at all. I have never tasted one that tasted like actual tea, and they were all oversweetened for my tastes.

I dig on kombucha a lot… sometimes I’ll drink Inko or Steaz in a pinch, but they generally have way too much sugar for me. Oh! The Japanese bottled teas are pretty awesome. Almost forgot those.
