Used porcelain Teapot / Magic Eraser Sponge?!

I was just wondering if I did more harm than good to my “new” teapot. I got a new but used Taiwanese blue-ish porcelain Teapot but with some stains inside the lid – you know the circle of the lid. In some cases also in this one the circle part of the lid isn’t really glaze and more rough when it comes to its surface – so I guess those parts aren’t glazed.
Anyway – first I created a hot vinegar mixed with water bath and put this pot inside for 5 minutes or so. After that I rubbed those stained parts with one of those magical eraser sponges. It worked really great but now (maybe it is only my imagination) I think the rough parts are even more rough after the rubbing but maybe it is only my imagination!
Anyway I was wondering if it is Ok (now it is too late anyway if it wasn’t XD) to use such sponge eraser and a vinegar water bath for cleaning a used porcelain glazed teapot?
Next time if it is glass, glazed, or porcelain try this. Works on metal and plastic too. Sold by Mandala Tea and works utterly amazingly.

But do you think Vinegar with Water and using those eraser sponges did any harm to it? Isn’t vinegar with water very user friendly?
Unlikely, magic eraser isn’t really abrasive enough to do any real surface damage. I’ve used baking soda scrubs, denture cleaners, and rough sponges to clean my porcelain teaware without the slightest affect. My guess is the rough spots were there all along.
It is difficult to imagine a magic eraser sponge taking off the glaze of a glazed teapot. I suppose it is possible that you took some of the glaze off but I kind of doubt it. These glazes are fired at very high temperatures. I have never heard of one coming off.
