Looking for tea recommendations

I am a huge fan of Earl grey and English breakfast black teas, as well as green and white teas of all types. Do you have some that you just love? If so, please share your recommendations with me. I’m constantly on the lookout for new teas to try. And, if you’re so inclined as to send some samples, send me a message and we can discuss a swap of some kind.

Thank you in advance!

If you’re interested in straight tea, you might want to check out Verdant’s five teas for $5 deal: http://verdanttea.com/teas/5-for-5-tea-samples/

The sampler teas you get with it are pretty well regarded. I’m partial to their Laoshan black and green teas.

My favorite teas keep changing but in general I like chocolatey Chinese black teas (Laoshan black, unsmoked lapsang souchong), grassy green teas (sencha and laoshan green tea), and floral oolongs (Taiwanese high mountain teas and baozhong).

How many cups does it make per serving approximately?

That varies from tea to tea and how you choose to brew it. They send 5g of each tea which is good for a single gongfu session. Or you could western steep it and get about 2-3 servings per tea.

Or better yet: don’t buy anything from companies that scam their customers, like Verdant.

I like the black tea I have gotten from Yunnan Sourcing, especially their Dragon Pearls of that is the name they call their pearl tea. Yunnan black teas are a little different from Earl Gray and English Breakfast though.

My two cents – purchase samplers from vendors representing different tea growing regions, especially if you’re on the lookout for new teas to try. That’s a nice low cost way to sample new teas before honing in on teas that please your palate. For example, my focus is on Indian/Nepali teas, the post above references Yunnan Sourcing, etc.

Yunnan Sourcing Camellia Taliensis Black tea. Also their OG Yellow tea is awesome. It’a like somewhere between a green and a black but not oolong.
