Earl grey was my first favorite. Now I’ve graduated from random bagged earl grey to loose leaf everything (green, black, oolong, white, pu-erh, etc.). Earl grey caught me, everything else kept me.

Darjeeling! It was probably bagged from Twinings, but it still opened my eyes to the world of tea!

It was actually a tisane. I was really surprised to see a Teavana in the mall (I’d never seen a tea shop before) and asked them if they had anything caffeine free. They let me sample a bunch of Rooibos and the chai hooked me instantly. Still my favorite “tea” even though I’ve tried dozens of types and flavors.

Pu-erh! I took a tea class at the local health food grocery and was introduced to it. Still a favorite!

My family always had just regular black tea in the fridge all the time. I used to sweeten it, but when I stopped drinking soda, I drank it unsweetened and just enjoyed it more. Now it’s all teas and I drink it practically every day. There’s SO much out there!

Either the individually packaged Yellow Label tea my Mum bought JUST FOR ME when I was a teenager (I know, I know) or the always beloved mint (my family always had some boiling on the stove, for fragrance rather than drinking but I am convinced it had something to do with my mint tea love).

Strawberry Slender pu-erh from Teavana. Smelled like strawberries but tasted like pu-erh. I graduated to taking it as pure leaf without the fruity-tootiness and branched out from there into other genres, but pu-erh is still my first love.

That would be Tie Guan Yin from Tealuxe. Still one of my favorites.

The Belgian chocolate rooibos a shop near Atlanta named ZenTea has. I went there and it was the first one I tried, and I couldn’t get enough.
