What do you do with the last gram or 2 of puer?
I have some puer samples that I have 1 or 2 grams left of. Its such a small amount that I can’t really steep it, but it seems wasteful not to use it.
I encounter this problem with teas from time to time. Some options for using up the last few grams:
- mix it with another tea to make enough for steeping
- grandpa steep it
- steep in a mini teapot/gaiwan (<80ml)
- cold brew
I usually mix it with another puerh of the same type. Sometimes the results are very interesting!
Special House Blend!
I make a stronger session to use it all up. Might as well go out with a bang.
More than 2 grams I will do a small volume with longer times. Anything less gets tossed in with a daily drinker.

im really intrigued in the house blend. the adult version of what i used to do with pop as a kid!
Mix it with another like the others mentioned or just steep it longer. I tend to go with the second myself
I have paper bags filled with dozens of leftovers in the pumidor, my own house mix. I only put samples in it that I liked. I label each bag with the year of the mix and start a new one every year.
